Tiny Weddings in Gatlinburg – Jaclyn and Sean

Jaclyn and Sean – August 13, 2020

Tiny Weddings in Gatlinburg

Tiny weddings in Gatlinburg are the way to go for a simple fun event! Jaclyn and Sean brought their son, Silas, their soon to be baby, and their parents to us on August 13th to say their vows. Silas was a great model for us — really showing off in front of the camera. Sean’s quirky personality was a lot of fun to experience, and Jaclyn was glowing. She got a last minute dress while she was in town, and it looked gorgeous!! We can’t wait to see the video from Yugen Productions!!

From the Bride and Groom:

We met on the Bumble dating app.  We had made plans to meet up at Hudson Grille, a local restaurant/bar, for a drink and something to eat on December 5th, 2018. Sean ended up being sick that day, and Jaclyn offered to reschedule (despite Sean’s claims otherwise), but he still wanted to keep our plans. We met up at a spot that would become our Monday night go-to for burgers, talked for a couple hours, and watched the end of the Villanova basketball game. Then as we were leaving it started to flurry out.

Sean had talked to his 9-year-old son, Silas, about his plans to propose, and Silas was “giddy” with excitement. Soon after, we all went out on our boat and stopped at a favorite lakeside grill for something to eat. As we were eating, Silas said, “Dad, didn’t you have something to ask her? Now is a good time. I don’t think I can wait…” and so Sean decided to go ahead and propose together with Silas on a beautiful May afternoon, turning a great family day into a perfect family day.

Early this year, we had started talking about a North Georgia wedding with family and friends, but before we had a chance to plan anything, COVID hit and everything was thrust into uncertainty. Almost at the same time, we found out that in the fall, when the North Georgia mountain/foliage views would be most ideal for a wedding, we’d be busy… welcoming another son into our family. We still hope to celebrate our marriage with family and friends in the future, but we didn’t want to delay our wedding any longer, and decided that the vacation we planned in Gatlinburg with Jaclyn’s parents visiting from NYC gave us the perfect opportunity to be married in an intimate ceremony with Silas and our parents present.

We both had the same answer to what we are looking forward to… “Being married to you.” (Silas’s answer is definitely, “Chocolate cake!”)

There is no significance to the date we’ve chosen. We’re just grateful to be together that day. We will all get to see baby Sawyer in 3D together for the first time earlier in the day, which is exciting since mamas can’t bring anyone to doctor’s appointments during COVID.

For fun, we all most love spending time together on Lake Lanier. We take our boat out for fun with friends, sunset swims, and “camping on the island,” which is a little island we frequent to make fires and for Silas and our dog Bailey to run free and have fun. We love to head to the stadium for Braves games, and hope we can return soon, and watching football. Sean also recently got Jaclyn to be a better “binge watcher” and we’ve enjoyed spending some low key days binge watching new shows.
