Taylor and Tristan August 31, 2019
Recently, Taylor and Tristan joined us with Taylor’s daughter, Lacey, and a friend. Even though it was just the four of them, Taylor brought lots of details to make everything uniquely them. We had gorgeous weather and some local wildlife even stopped by to pay their respects. Congratulations Taylor and Tristan!!
From the Bride:
We went to high school together, but never really knew each other existed besides watching each other play sports. We officially met at the beach through our mutual friends. He was there with a group of his friends, and I was there with a group of mine. After meeting, we both ditched our friends to hang out together, and we had so much fun during those 2 days. We rented scooters, rode the slingshot, and went to a Dierks Bentley concert. We weren’t really sure how it would be when we got back home, but we kept talking after the beach and started hanging out when we got home. Even though we both knew we liked each other, neither one of us would say anything to each other for a while. A few months later, we were officially dating. Now 3 years later, we can’t wait to get married and spend forever together.
Our first date would have been when we first met at the beach. We went to an amusement park and rode the slingshot and a few more rides. The slingshot was so much fun that we had to buy the video of us riding and the t shirts. After that, we went walking on the beach and stayed out talking until daylight the next day. We ended our date by watching the dolphins jumping and swimming in the ocean.
We didn’t really have a proposal. We have always talked about getting married and knew we wanted to, but wanted to wait until I graduated college. One day, we decided to go look at engagement rings so he would have an idea of what kind I liked. We ended up finding the perfect ring that we both loved so he got it that day, but still wasn’t ready to propose yet. About 8 months after we picked out the engagement ring, we decided together that we wanted to elope and have a small intimate wedding.
We decided on Tennessee for our wedding because we wanted a small, intimate wedding, and Gatlinburg has always been a beautiful place to go on vacation. After googling chapels in that area, Chapel in the Hollow seemed like the perfect fit for us. I most looked forward to saying I do and getting to start our life together as a family. As far as the events of our wedding day, I couldn’t wait until our first look. We chose our wedding date because we would be dating 3 years on August 29th so we wanted to get as close to that day as possible.
As busy as we both are, it’s hard to have many hobbies or date nights. Our typical date night is usually renting a movie and going home to eat popcorn.
