Ashlee and Alvin Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Elopement Pigeon Forge

Ashlee and Alvin August 17, 2019

We were really excited to welcome Ashlee and Alvin this morning for a wedding at the chapel. The morning light was gorgeous–it highlighted Ashlee’s gorgeous blonde hair and made her look angelic. I loved that the groom got a little teary when reciting his vows, and I enjoyed their excited smiles!

From the bride:
We had known each other since 2012 or so. We both worked out at the YMCA, and we were both married at the time. Years later in 2018, I was working as a Pretrial Officer for our county, and he was the Chief Deputy for our Sheriffs Department. I walked into the courthouse for work one morning, and he just happened to be there talking to court security. He sat up from his chair and made eye contact with me and got the biggest smile. I waved and walked to my office. A few days later, he sent me a friend request on Facebook. We were both now divorced and single. He commented on a funny picture I had posted, and we started messaging each other. I gave him my phone number and eventually asked if he would like to meet for drinks.

Our first “date” started at 1:00 in the afternoon on Oct 6th. We were both off work and met up at a local Mexican restaurant. We talked, drank, and LAUGHED for hours! By far the BEST and EASIEST first date we had ever been on. We have basically been together and inseparable since that very day. Alvin proposed on May 25th. He and I were canoeing down Elkhorn Creek in KY. It was totally unexpected. We were just in the middle of a conversation, and I looked back to comment back when he asked. We have an awesome time with everything we do. We like four-wheeling, fishing, and hanging with our incredible children.
