May Micro Wedding
Kacie and Caleb – May 3, 2025
From the Bride
We had known each other just in passing for a few years, but never talked to each other. We officially met during the summer of 2023 through a mutual acquaintance. We started talking in October 2023, and realized we never wanted to stop talking. We became engaged in July 2024, and the rest is history. Our first date was just us hanging out watching a movie, and realizing we actually do like spending time together.
Caleb proposed on July 6; 2024. We had planned a date night to go out to eat. I had no idea he had bought a ring, or even went to look at rings at that point. He even involved my best friend in it, and she was actually able to keep the secret. She knew what the ring looked like, and he texted her before we left to go to the restaurant letting her know he might do it that night. He had apparently planned on doing it in August when we went on our trip to NYC for his birthday. He decided he didn’t think he wanted to wait any longer. He seemed to have something on his mind all through dinner, and I just couldn’t figure out what it was. He was apparently trying to decide on popping the question that night or waiting. He decided not to wait. Before we left the restaurant he was insistent on making sure we got a picture together, which was a little unusual for him, but we was dressed up and out somewhere nice so it made sense for us to get a picture. He asked the hostess on our way out if she would take a picture for us. I walked on ahead, not realizing when he was giving her my phone he was letting her know his plan. What I thought was her taking a picture was actually her videoing us. After she acted like she got the picture, we started to walk off, he said my name, I turned around, and he was down on one knee. He had the ring in his hand in our “picture” and I didn’t even know it. He was more nervous than I had ever seen him, I was speechless (and for me that’s a big deal because I talk all the time). He couldn’t remember the speech he had prepared, but he still said the sweetest words. I, of course, said yes. And here we are.
We knew we wanted to have a small, special wedding — a May micro wedding. We had friends that used this location last October, and I loved it. We talked about it and decided that this was the spot for us. We are most looking forward to saying I Do. The date is special to me (Kacie) as it is my grandfather’s birthday. He passed away when I was 12, so this is my way of being able to incorporate him into my day without being able to have him here with me.
We love watching baseball and going to games when we can. Our typical date nights usually consist of going out to eat and just spending time together. Our schedules are usually busy and we’re always on the go, so when we get the opportunity to have some time just the two of us, we take it but make it very relaxing for us.
