Heather and Mikie’s lavender Halloween wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a fantastical blend of spooky and sweet, set against the enchanting backdrop of a fall-dressed Smoky Mountains. They introduced a unique touch to our venue, draping the chapel in lavender fabric and pairing it with our moody florals and flickering candles, crafting an atmosphere that was both mystical and romantic.
Heather stunned in a one-of-a-kind lavender and black dress that she dyed herself, complementing it with sparkly purple pumps that twinkled with every step. Mikie matched the festive spirit in a grey suit accented with a black tie adorned with subtle skull patterns, adding a dash of Halloween spirit to the elegant affair.
The couple brought charming details that included a coffin-style ring box and a cute booklet, perfect for their thematic celebration. Their family, including their two children and their significant others, joined from Louisiana, experiencing the vibrant colors of fall for the first time. The girls helped Heather get ready, adding to the joyful preparations, while their son had the honor of walking her down the aisle, a moment filled with familial love and pride.
As the ceremony gave way to a photo session, the couple embraced the Halloween theme fully by donning masks for a few playful and memorable pictures, capturing the essence of the day with a twist of fun.
Congratulations, Heather and Mikie! Your lavender Halloween wedding was a beautiful celebration of your love and creativity. May your life together be as colorful and filled with joy as your special day!
From the Bride
We met though a mutual friend. At first we just hung out in a group setting. One night after a little liquid courage I ran up behind Mikie and pinched his butt while walking down Bourbon street. He thought it was our friend and couldn’t believe that it was me. After that we started hanging out and just like that we were inseparable. We moved in together after dating for like a month and the rest was history! Our first official date was a blur. It was Halloween 2008, we went down to the French Quarter and had a blast.
No one really proposed we kind of just both decided on forever. Nothing crazy just the two of us against the world. My grandmother lived in Sevierville for years and I would spend the summers out here. Mikie and I are always looking for different places to visit and I knew I just had to bring him out here. We spent a week on vacation and just knew this was the place for us to get married. We love everything outdoors and this is the perfect backdrop.
This is an intimate ceremony between ourselves and our children (their other half’s are for their moral support. lol). We thought about eloping just the 2 of us but knew we just couldn’t do it without our kids. We just want the day to be about the love that we have for each other and our family. Our dating anniversary is 10/31 and we love all things Halloween. So we wanted a date that was close.
We love all things outdoors, fishing, hiking, boating, a good bonfire and atv riding just to name a few. We are also total foodies! Being from Louisiana we are always looking for good local spots.
