Getting Married in Tennessee – Erika and Brad

Getting Married in Tennessee

Getting married in Tennessee is a dream for a lot of couples!! For our first wedding on June 27th, Erika and Brad joined us from Kentucky. What until you get a look at this AMAZING dress–fabric for days and so many textures. LOVE!! She went a little on the fun side with her makeup by Southern Sirens, and it really pops for the camera. The bouquets by Echelon Florist made for some great camera drama, too! Brad and his brother rocked their cowboy hats to show off their country side, and it all came together beautifully. Congratulations Erika and Brad!!

From the Bride:

We met when we were around 13 years old. I walked to meet him in the snow to show him a photo of a friend who a mutual friend was trying to set him up with. It was on from there. Before I was allowed to date, I used to hang out at his house playing garage assistant while he and his dad worked on an old Dodge truck that they were building. We still have the truck, and being his garage assistant is still my favorite Saturday afternoon activity. A lot of life happened for us between 13 and 30, but the one thing that has always remained constant is that we keep coming back to each other.

Brad proposed on Christmas. From the time we were 13 years old, I told him, ” DO NOT PROPOSE TO ME ON A HOLIDAY! I WANT MY OWN HOLIDAY!” About three weeks before Christmas this past year, I changed my mind. I realized that Christmas is my favorite day of the year, and nothing could make it better other than getting a new last name. He assured me that three weeks was not enough time, and it wasn’t going to happen. Even my friends and family lectured me about giving him unrealistic tasks right before Christmas. Little did I know that he actually knows me better than I know myself. Not only had he already decided to propose, but he had already planned the entire engagement for Christmas evening with all of our close family. (Everyone warned him that Christmas was NOT what I wanted, but he insisted that he knows what my heart really wants. It turns out that he was correct!) Everyone played a role. I was in total shock! It was by far the most romantic gesture he has ever made. It was perfect!

We decided on East Tennessee because we love it there. We love nature. We wanted a small, intimate ceremony with a beautiful backdrop. This was perfect. I most looked forward to finally being able to say that we are husband and wife. This day has been a long time coming. We chose this date because it’s my parents’ wedding anniversary. This is their 39th year married. We admire the level of commitment they have to their marriage, each other, and their family.

We love to travel. We love country music. Concerts are a must in our lives. We love long drives on country backroads in our jeep, and we love hanging out with our three furry children.
