Rachel and Jason December 21, 2019
Gatlinburg Elopement
Rachel and Jason joined us on the morning of December 21st for our for their Gatlinburg elopement and our first wedding of the day. She looked radiant in her gorgeous asymmetrical one shoulder dress while Jason was stylin’ in his grey suit. They said their vows with just Ian and myself as their witnesses in the woods on the porch of our little mini chapel, and they added a little Christian flair into our interfaith ceremony to make it their own. Congratulations Rachel and Jason!! May you have many happy years together!
From the Bride:
Rachel couldn’t sleep one night and decided to browse the online dating world in the hopes it would scare her enough to just leave it all alone. Unbeknownst to her she has accidentally clicked on Jason’s profile. Jason started messaging her, she looked at his profile and decided to take a chance and talk to him. We talked for four hours that night and several times the next day. It was an instant connection.
We lived two hours away from each other and decided on a meeting point somewhat in the middle. We met at Starbucks for a mid morning coffee to see how things went. This was Rachel’s first “first date” in a very long time and Jason was new to the dating scene as well. Jadon called me as I was driving to the date and said I know you’re nervous, and I know we get along great in conversation…let’s talk while we drive to Starbucks and that way when we get there we can just continue the conversation! He won me over at that moment! Our coffee date went so well it turned into a little shopping (where he tested my knowledge at a sporting goods store????) and lunch.
Jason proposed. I had the day off work and Jason wanted us to go somewhere we hadn’t been. We drove to Staunton that Wednesday afternoon. It was a beautiful little historic town. He had picked out a restaurant to eat at but we needed to kill some time before it opened. We set out on a walk around the town and discovered some cute shops. We ate a wonderful dinner and decided to re-visit one of the shops to a purse that I liked. On the way back to the car Jason stopped and did a fake “the office” Jim and Pam proposal. I said at least I have the purse as a consolation ????. We continued walking towards the car and got to the street corner where we were to cross the street to get to the car. I went cross the street and Jason pulled my hand back and said wait a minute. I turned and saw him getting down on one knee and pulling a ring out of his pocket. He asked me to marry him and all I could say in that moment was “you’re kidding me!” He got up and asked me if that was a yes and of course it was!!
We decided on Tennessee for our Gatlinburg elopement because we were looking for a beautiful Mountain View and the area offers the perfect place for our mini-moon after our wedding.
What I look forward to most….I am looking forward to being able to have Jason as my husband, blessed to be called his wife, and to spend the rest of our lives loving each other. Jason says ditto????????
We wanted a time where it could be just us and this worked out perfectly. The venue, the timing, the dress, everything just fell right into place. Much like how we met. All in God’s timing.
We enjoy going to the lake, where we enjoy spending time with our family fishing and riding on the pontoon. Jason has introduced me to hunting which I enjoy getting to do with him when time permits. We really enjoy spending time with each other and making the most out of any quality time we have.
