Easy Fall Morning Wedding – Lauren and David

Easy Fall Morning Wedding

Lauren and David – November 22.2025

There’s something undeniably magical about a fall morning wedding in the Smoky Mountains—soft light, cool air, and the quiet feeling that the forest is waking up right alongside you. When Lauren and David chose Chapel in the Hollow for their relaxed fall celebration, they dreamed of a day that felt easy, intimate, and completely centered around their family. Their beautiful morning ceremony did exactly that.

A Calm, Post-Rain Glow Over the Mountains

Earlier that morning, a gentle rain swept across the forest, leaving behind glossy leaves, softened light, and that fresh earthy scent only autumn rain can create. By the time Lauren and David arrived, the skies had opened, gifting them clear weather and the dreamiest natural glow—perfect for a quiet morning Smoky Mountain micro wedding.

The chapel was dressed in cream and sand fabric, perfectly complemented by your bohemian florals and the candle + lantern package. The soft tones blended seamlessly with the misty fall backdrop, creating an atmosphere that felt warm, peaceful, and deeply intimate. Couples planning their own fall celebration can explore similar looks in our wedding décor options.

A Bride Full of Grace + A Groom Styled for Autumn

Lauren stepped into the forest looking absolutely radiant in her sleeveless Martin Thornburg gown, complete with a flowing train and a mid-length veil that sparkled beautifully in the soft morning light. Her look was classic yet effortless—perfect for an easygoing fall morning wedding.

David looked equally striking in a burgundy suit, paired with brown leather shoes—one of our favorite color choices for autumn grooms. His rich tones stood out beautifully against the earthy greens and golden hues of the woods.

A Family-Centered Morning Full of Meaning

Before the ceremony, Lauren shared a tender first look with their sons. Their reaction was pure joy—wide smiles, proud faces, and the kind of moment that reminds you exactly why family-focused weddings are so powerful. When it was time to walk down the aisle, each son took one of her arms, guiding her toward David as he waited under the glowing lanterns.

During the ceremony, the boys carried the rings and then joined their parents for a sand ceremony, symbolizing the blending of their family. It was simple, heartfelt, and deeply personal—everything an intimate micro wedding strives to be.

Portraits in the Autumn Light

After the “I do’s,” we captured family portraits at the chapel before heading out for couple photos around the property. The morning rain left a stunning shine on the forest road, and the diffused light cascading through the trees made every location feel extra dreamy.

We visited:

  • The chapel, glowing with candles and soft fabric movement

  • The archway, perfect for framing romantic portraits

  • The forest road, glistening with rain-kissed leaves

The resulting images were warm, atmospheric, and unmistakably autumnal—the kind of portraits that show off just how magical a morning Smoky Mountain wedding can be.

An Easy, Heartfelt Start to Forever

Lauren and David’s day was everything a fall micro wedding should be: easy, meaningful, full of family connection, and wrapped in the quiet beauty of an East Tennessee morning. If you’re dreaming of a relaxed celebration surrounded by nature, a morning ceremony at Chapel in the Hollow might be the perfect fit.

From the Bride

We met the old fashioned way – dating app :)! I was hesitant to go on a date (not with him, just nerves in general) but we set a plan to have our first date at Main Event on Sept 19, 2023 but I couldn’t make it (last minute) and he tells everyone I stood him up. I did make it the next night Sept 20, 2023. We parked our cars and walked up to Main Event together, sat at the bar, laughed, played a few games (I beat him at basketball and we both crushed it at the Kung Fu Panda game), and laughed so hard turning our tickets in for a rainbow pillow that split in half (one side says best and the other side says friends). David didn’t allow us to walk over to Carolina Ale House for dinner – he insisted it was too far – so he drove us over and we sat there for a long while sharing stories and laughing so hard. We figured out very quickly on that first date that this was something special.

David proposed twice actually – once in the Dominican Republic right before we were invited to attend a fake wedding dinner (great story!) and once in bed (HA!) after he went to Markman’s to “upgrade” my ring and couldn’t contain himself to propose formally – “the ring is burning a hole in my nightstand”. He is not an overly romantic person, but his level of excitement was so very sweet on both occasions.

We decided to get married in East Tennessee because we met here, we live here, our kids were born here. Plus, we love being outdoors, rustic vibes, and the simple things (not overly concerned with material things – more about the experience). On our wedding day I am looking forward to seeing David’s reaction as I walk down the aisle, including our two sons, Trey and Trevor, in the memories, becoming Mr. and Mrs. Blanton officially, getting to say “this is my husband/wife”, celebrating the whole weekend at The Ridge with family and friends, and looking forward to the future of happiness combining our family into one!

We chose this date because 22 is my favorite number (even have a tattoo of it) so David chose the date based on 22nd with November as a perfect month for us as our favorite season, around Thanksgiving (lots to be thankful for now), and 11/22 (11+11=22) is easy to remember. Our lives are focused on our two kids and attending all sporting events, school events, birthdays, etc. When we don’t have the kids we love traveling. We have been to so many concerts with more on the list. We enjoy RV camping and being outdoors. We enjoy riding the motorcycle and finding new spots along the way. We enjoy trying new spots to eat and new spots to take pictures. Basically….if you can’t find us with the kids, you will find us on an adventure. 🙂
