Relaxed Fall Wedding at Chapel in the Hollow
Kristen and Justin – November 20, 2025
Fall in the Smoky Mountains has a way of wrapping every moment in quiet magic — and Kristen and Justin’s relaxed autumn wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was the perfect example of how simple, heartfelt celebrations can become the most meaningful memories.
They chose our forest chapel for its peaceful setting, intimate layout, and natural beauty, and their entire day unfolded with the sweetest blend of joy, sentiment, and family togetherness. If you’re dreaming of a relaxed fall micro wedding filled with authenticity and warmth, their love story is everything.
A Gentle, Romantic Ceremony Setting
Kristen and Justin dressed the chapel in cream fabric paired with our wildflower florals and candle package, creating a soft and inviting glow that fit the November season beautifully. The warm tones blended perfectly with the changing leaves and cozy forest ambiance — one of the reasons fall weddings at Chapel in the Hollow are so incredibly popular for couples seeking romance without the stress of a large event.
Getting Ready With Meaning
Both the bride and groom added sentimental touches to start their morning: matching boots, handwritten promises tucked into leather vow books, and keepsakes they wanted to carry into this new chapter of their lives.
Kristen looked radiant in her sleeveless gown with a medium train and long veil, while Justin looked timeless and sharp in his black suit. The getting-ready moments were filled with happy tears as Kristen’s mom and Justin’s mom helped her prepare — a memory she’ll cherish forever.
One of the most touching parts of the day came when Justin surprised her mom with a heartfelt letter. It was thoughtful, emotional, and a true reflection of the love and care woven into their relationship. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
A Personal Ceremony Full of Heart
Before the ceremony began, their son and nephew stepped into their adorable roles as ring security and flower boys, bringing laughter and sweetness to the moment.
Kristen’s mom walked her down the aisle, and Uncle Mark officiated — both of them wiping away tears as the couple read the vows they had written themselves. From start to finish, their ceremony felt deeply personal, emotional, and entirely about their connection.
They exited under a cascade of bubbles, beaming with joy as their family cheered them on. Bubble exits are always a hit here, and they add such whimsy to the forest setting!
Sweet Celebrations & Family Moments
After the ceremony, we captured a round of family portraits at the chapel before heading into a small but meaningful cake-cutting. The cake — a sweet homemade creation lovingly made by Justin’s mom — was the perfect touch for their relaxed, family-centered day.
Golden Leaves, Mountain Mist & Romantic Portraits
Once the formalities were done, Kristen and Justin took a little time to explore the property for couple portraits with Star Noir Studio.
✨ We started at the chapel.
✨ Then moved to the truck, popping beautifully against the yellow-green leaves.
✨ Down the forest road where Kristen twirled her dress.
✨ Over to the mossy rock garden with the most ethereal autumn color.
✨ And finally into the open field with a misty mountain backdrop — the Smokies rolling in behind them in soft, dreamy waves.
The veil shots in the field were absolute perfection and captured everything calm, magical, and romantic about the season.
From the Bride
He was overnight security at a hospital I was working as a day shift CNA at- we would pass by each other but never really said anything. He added me on Facebook and asked me out on a date lol! That was over 9 years ago now. Our first date was at Chipotle because that’s where he would take girls on dates LOL. He proposed two years ago on the side of the road on a rock in the middle of one of the random creek spots here in the Smokey’s. His whole family was in on it and I had no idea.
We decided to get married in the Smoky Mountains because we come to visit family often and we got engaged here. On our wedding day I am looking forward to Everything! Finally getting married! Having the same last name as the man I love and my son. Also, the buffet after LOL.
He plays games and collects old gaming systems. He also loves to work on things and cook. I love to eat the things he cooks LOL I collect cool rocks and I also do enjoy games as well. Hopefully I’ll be starting my sourdough making journey soon too! Date nights are usually getting or making food, laughing and just enjoying each others company.
