Earthy Boho Smoky Mountain Wedding – Al and Kenneth

Earthy Boho Smoky Mountain Wedding

Al and Kenneth – November 3, 2025

There’s something utterly magical about saying “I do” amidst the towering trees and misty peaks of the Chapel in the Hollow in the Smokies—and that magic found its perfect story in the wedding of Kenneth + Al. Their November day embodied the warm, textured, soulful feel of an earthy boho celebration, blending intentional style with deep emotion and glorious nature.

A Setting Designed for Connection

From the moment the forest began whispering gold and rust in the late-fall air, the stage was set for a micro-wedding experience that felt both intimate and epic. At Chapel in the Hollow—a private, outdoor-only venue in the foothills of the mountains—couples enjoy all the beauty of the Smokies without the stress of large crowds, permitting hoops, or tourist traffic.

The Palette, The Details, The Feeling

Al chose a textured rust fabric to drape the chapel—a rich, earthy hue that played beautifully off the woodland backdrop. Mini pews were adorned with lavender wreaths, filling the crisp forest air with the soft scent of calm. 🌿💜 The palette? Warm, natural, deeply autumn-rooted. Every detail pointed back to the environment and to their story.

She wore a long-sleeved gown with a medium train, hair worn down, crowned with dried flowers that mirrored her bouquet—earthy goddess vibes in full flow. ✨ Kenneth grounded the look with jeans, a black country suit jacket, and a black cowboy hat—rustic, classic, effortlessly cool. 🤠 Their styling spoke of who they are: relaxed, real, deeply committed to each other and the moment.

The Moment, The Vows, The Tears

As Al’s friends helped her prepare, there was a quiet sense of anticipation—not stress, not hurry, just love in motion. Her father walked her down the aisle to the gentle sounds of nature, every leaf whispering congratulations.

And then: the moment Kenneth first saw her. The one where his tears broke free, unguarded, beautiful and true. One of those moments that remind you weddings aren’t about perfection—they’re about meaning.

Their vows followed. Written for each other, raw, real. Both tear-eyes, both hearts full. When his brother-in-law stepped in as officiant, the ceremony felt beautifully family-centered. Deep, rooted, personal.

Portraits in the Forest Light

After “I do,” it was time to capture the feel of this day. Family photos first, within the chapel space, with the rust fabric making Al’s bouquet pop and the lavender accents glowing in midday light.

Then, the couple portraits. First to the road: still glistening from recent rain, leaves reflections dancing, that reflective asphalt adding mood. Then the mossy rock garden: every stone softened by green, every sunlight beam hitting just right. The natural world was doing its part.

And it didn’t stop there. We finished in the field with the mountain view beyond—smoke drifting gently across the peaks, the kind of misty magic the Smokies are famous for. 🌄💫 It was nature dramatized in the best way.

Why This Matters

For couples seeking an intimate, stress-free wedding in the woods—especially those drawn to earthy boho vibes—Kenneth + Al’s day offers inspiration. The combination of personal styling, meaningful familial involvement, and a venue built for deep connection means your wedding becomes more than just a date: it becomes your story in the woods.

At Chapel in the Hollow, you’ll feel the difference: a micro-wedding setting where the trees, the fabric, the scent of lavender, the rust color-tones, and the mountain mist all pull together to tell your love story.

From the Bride

I am originally from Wisconsin, and Kenneth is from Texas. I was a traveling nurse, and we met when I was working in Oklahoma City. On our first date I was getting over being sick. I remember being so tired but him being so kind and gentle.

Kenneth proposed to me just after Christmas in 2023 in Sun Dance Square in Fort Worth Texas. All of the Christmas decorations were still up, and there was a giant tree in the middle. He proposed right next to the giant Christmas tree. It was so pretty! After Kenneth and I started dating I left to work in Knoxville TN. I fell in love with the area, but it’s also where I knew I would marry Kenneth. After I was done in Tennessee I went back to Wisconsin and moved to Oklahoma to be with him. Rest is history.  I can’t wait to be celebrating the start of a new chapter with my best friend and having our extended families meet for the first time. We enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and just being with each other.
