Woodsy Summer Micro Wedding – Kacie and DJ

Kacie and DJ – July 1, 2023

Woodsy Summer Micro Wedding

Kacie and DJ brought their favorite people together for a truly memorable woodsy summer micro wedding here at our picturesque venue. The chapel was transformed into a stunning oasis, adorned with beautiful champagne and peach fabrics that perfectly complemented our succulent florals. The attention to detail was remarkable!
Kacie looked absolutely radiant in her halter-style lace dress, and DJ was dashing in his stylish tan suit. As they walked down the aisle, accompanied by her nieces and nephew, you could feel the love and excitement in the air. This wedding was more than just a union of two individuals—it was the joining of their families. Kacie embraced the role of becoming the mother of DJ’s two beautiful daughters, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for their blended family.
During their heartfelt ceremony, Kacie and DJ incorporated a special moment of communion, symbolizing their unity and commitment to each other. It was a deeply meaningful and personal touch that left everyone in awe. Adding to the emotional significance of the day, Kacie’s brother took the stage and read scriptures that resonated with the couple’s journey of love and faith. It was a beautiful tribute that brought an extra layer of warmth and spirituality to the ceremony. The unique and thoughtful touches continued with the succulent boutonnieres for the groomsmen and succulent wristlets instead of traditional bouquets for the bridesmaids. These details perfectly reflected the couple’s love for nature and added an extra touch of charm to their special day.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the East Tennessee outdoors, their wedding was nothing short of magical. The serene ambiance and natural beauty truly enhanced the celebration of their love. We are honored to have been a part of Kacie and DJ’s extraordinary day, witnessing their love story unfold in such a unique and memorable way. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness, cherished moments, and many more adventures together!
From The Bride and Groom:
We met on Match.com. Both of us had been divorced for ~7 years and, while we had dated, we were both pretty discouraged by the dating scene. Kacie got on Match looking for dinner and good conversation after taking the year off dating and focusing on other goals. DJ was the first man to message her and the only one she responded to. They began talking and met for dinner a few weeks later… the rest is history! Our first date was a simple dinner at one of our favorite pizza spots. Both were pretty nervous to finally meet one another in-person after talking on the phone so much over the prior few weeks. Conversation was easy and we just seemed to click.
DJ proposed. He surprised Kacie after a CS Lewis show by saying that his daughter needed him to call her. He left the show a little early and text Kacie that he would pick her up in the circle drive outside of the venue. Kacie went to his vehicle and his sister was in the driver seat and his daughters were in the back. They handed me a “clue” about where I needed to take them… It read: “Daddy told us about a rock by a dock that you sat on with him and talked. Take us there and you’ll find your next clue.” DJ had lights hung and a picture book set up on a table there. The picture book went through a sweet story about all their fun times together and ended on the last page with the words, “and then…” DJ came from around a tree and proposed. It was such a perfect moment with his daughters there and his sister was able to capture most of it on video/camera. SO PERFECT!!
We decided on an East Tennessee wedding because we both love the mountains. The smokies are picturesque and not the typical Colorado destination that most people choose. It was a short enough drive for our families to make it and Chapel in the Hollow is even better than any spot that Kacie had in mind. We chose the date because we met in July 2022. 7.1.23 seemed like the perfect date to both of us. We are looking forward to marrying our best friend.
For fun, we love to cook fancy dinners together. We love trying new places and often make a few stops for different foods on date nights out. We love family time with the girls making homemade pizza and pastas. We look forward to our church group every Wednesday evening and are also very active. Biking, walking trails, zip lining, getting out on the river, etc.
