Woodsy Spring Micro Wedding – Heather and Jason

Heather and Jason – April 24, 2022

Woodsy Spring Micro Wedding

Heather and Jason brought their friends and family to Chapel in the Hollow for their woodsy spring micro wedding. They dressed the chapel in sand and champagne fabric with our white florals, and she brought some fun sola wood bouquets that coordinated. She and Jason went on their first date 6 years ago on April 24, 2016. They brought puppers to be part of their ceremony, and his cousin did a fantastic job in his role as officiant. Congratulations, Heather and Jason!!
From the Bride:
We met online. It was about 2.5 years after I lost my late fiancé and my brother decided it was time for me to date again and signed me up for an online dating profile. Jason contacted me a few days later and the rest is history.
We had made plans to go out after much convincing from friends, he had a daughter and I was unsure about kids. We made plans for a Monday night and ended up moving the date up a couple of days, as Jason had a kid free weekend. I thought I would scare him off suggesting mini golf and ice cream, as I had dinner plans with a friend and her mom earlier that evening, but he was on board. We seemed to have an instant connection, which made for a nerve wracking first date, what if we just didn’t click in person? There were a few awkward holes of mini golf before we both loosened up. We ended up enjoying the night so much we kept the date we had planned a few days later.
Jason proposed. He had thought about doing it a day earlier, but the dog had other plans and decided to destroy his crate tray leaving quite the mess to clean while we were out. So, the next day, Jason had Jaylyn distract me and came downstairs with a box that contained a wood sign for the mantel that read Miller. The joke was we we had to get one that said the Miller’s and a Hall, as I was not yet a Miller. When I looked up from the sign, Jason was on one knee with a ring. After he proposed, Jaylyn gave me an infinity necklace with both our birth stones and asked me to be her bonus mom forever. It was perfect.
We were struggling to find a venue that suited us in Illinois or Michigan (our home states). Jason knew how much I love the mountains and suggested a smaller destination wedding. I can’t wait to finally being husband and wife, marrying my best friend. The date is special because we had our first date April 24th, 2016!
We love to spend time outdoors. Camping, hiking, walks with the dogs and just hanging in our back yard. Family woods walks are a big thing for us. The yellow roses in the bouquets are in memory of the brides mother who passed in 2021. On her wedding day Janet carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
