Winter Vow Renewal – Angeline and David

Angeline and David – February 26, 2022

For our second event of the day, Angeline and David joined us for their winter vow renewal. They were celebrating 15 years!! Their children and grandchildren joined them to watch them renew their vows. They dressed the chapel in champagne and white with our blue and yellow florals. Angeline looked gorgeous in her lacey white dress. David was a fun character with an artistic side. Congratulations, Angeline and David! We wish you many more wonderful years together!!

From the Bride:

We met in jail….seriously! David was a police officer and Angeline was a probation officer. They crossed paths at work and Angeline thought that David was too old for her and she did not like his mustache! Oh how the tables turned! The story differs depending on who you ask, but Angeline will tell you that David chased her. That’s her story and she’s sticking to it.

She talked and talked and talked…. that’s what David will say. Of course he had just come off of a 36 hour shift that included a patrol shift, court, and SWAT training. They were supposed to go to eat dinner with another couple at a restaurant called Maui Taco. But surprise! The other couple never showed up. We’ve been inseparable ever since.

David isn’t exactly a hopeless romantic but he knows how to get his point across. He placed the ring on the tree for Angeline to find on Christmas morning and then told her to put it on. He also wrote on a paper towel….”Do you want to get hitched?”. We were married in the middle of a field in our county in front of a cabin and pond that we frequently fished. We were surrounded by 50 of our closest family, friends, and police coworkers. The entire wedding cost $500. That included the cake, dress, and a bouquet!

Angeline and David enjoy visiting Gatlinburg a couple times a year. Their daughters and grandchildren live in East Tennessee and Chapel in the Hollow was the perfect spot for everyone to gather together and make some memories. We’re looking forward to all of our children and grandchildren being together to share the special day with us. We were married on 2/17/2007 and we decided to renew our vows in the month that we were married.
