Surprise Winter Vow Renewal

For our third and final event of the day, Sandra and Steve joined us for a surprise winter vow renewal organized by their children. They dressed the chapel in white with our blue and yellow florals, and Megan brought some yellow roses to add in. I’ve been photographing Megan and Nick since their engagement around 8 years ago which is when I got to meet Sandra and Steve (as the holders of the pupper, lol). Sandra is one of the most vivacious women you’ll meet, and their whole family is always so much fun. I was so excited when Megan approached me about this, and the Getleys did not disappoint. 😉 They were surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and their closest friends on a beautifully drizzly day reminiscent of their wedding day in England 30 years ago when everyone at the pub came together to help them plan their wedding. Congratulations, Sandra and Steve!! May you have many more years together!!

They were neighbors in England! Been married 30 years! Moved countries together, had two kids. 3 grandkids! For the first date, my mom actually got sick and cancelled. My dad wouldn’t let her so he went across the street to her house and cooked her dinner instead. I don’t know the proposal story. My mom was pregnant with me, they are welcome! (To interject… I overheard Sandra telling someone that Steve had proposed and she turned him down, but then he proposed again, and she accepted. That’s when their pub friends rallied around to help them plan a wedding.)
