What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
What happens if it rains on your wedding day? The thought of rain on your wedding day may have you understandably worried. We are an outdoor only venue with no roofed area for ceremonies which can be a little scary. Don’t stress. We’ve got you covered! (Pun intended, lol.) You have a couple of options if it looks like rain for your wedding day.
- You are welcome to contract with a tent rental company to have a tent set up somewhere on property. We haven’t had anyone take advantage of this as of yet, but it is an option if it’s something you’d prefer.
- Most of our couples choose to go forward as planned. We have 20 matching umbrellas on property for your guests to use during the ceremony (ours takes roughly 7 minutes). You and your significant other will be protected under the eaves of the chapel’s mini porch. After the ceremony, we have a clear umbrella for you to use for pictures.
- If you have purchased wedding insurance as we recommend, you can cancel your wedding and rebook at your leisure.
While it can be really frustrating to think about rain on your wedding day, the lighting it brings is gorgeous!! We love rainy day lighting. Everything is soft and a little moody creating a gorgeous, romantic atmosphere and bringing in the “smoke” that the mountains are known for.
