Vow Renewal in the Smokies

Candi and Joe brought their family and friends to us for a vow renewal in the Smokies! Candi and Joe were supposed to get married with us around this time last year, but the fires caused a change in plans. That means we just got to celebrate their 1 year vow renewal with them! They dressed the chapel in lavender and purple fabric with our lavender florals and wreaths. She brought all sorts of fun lavender and purple details — including her gorgeous ring! Congratulations, Candi and Joe on one year married!

From the Couple:

We met online! Candi lived in Cincinnati OH and joined Match.com in March 2020, and Joe lived in Danville IN and joined in July 2020, both during the pandemic. We “met” online on July 6th, and talked, texted, and FaceTimed each other all day everyday until Joe decided to drive to Cincinnati to meet in person on July 10th. On July 13th we both agreed that we didn’t want to talk to or see anyone else, only each other. Joe nervously went to Candi’s house, where we awkwardly talked in person, both nervous. We took a little drive around Candi’s neighborhood in Joe’s gigantic and loud monster truck, which stuck out like a sore thumb in. After returning back to the house, both drank a little moonshine to calm their nerves, and the rest is history! Joe proposed to Candi in early Winter 2021, on one of our many trips to TN. In a prayer and conversation with God, Joe shared that in his heart he was already married to Candi.

TN feels like home to both of us. We travel to and from TN regularly, visiting family, friends, off-roading and boating. We plan to move to TN within the next few years. So we decided on an East Tennessee wedding at Chapel in the Hollow. We are looking forward to finally having this day together! We originally planned to marry at the chapel 11/28/21, but we both had COVID. Then we rescheduled for 3/31/22, and a wildfire didn’t let that ceremony happen either! After not being able to have our ceremony a second time, on 3/31/22, we married anyway at Lake Norris on 4/2/22. So today, 4/2/23 is our 1 year anniversary!

For fun, we enjoy being with family and friends mostly. Being outside, fishing, off-roading, boating, gardening. We also like eating different cuisines, and cooking together. We regularly talk about what we want our life to look like once we’re in TN. We joke around and laugh a lot!
