Purple and Green Wedding – Andrew and Colin

 Purple and Green Wedding
at Chapel in the Hollow

Andrew and Colin – August 23, 2025

A Celebration of Love, Laughter, and Vows in the Smokies

When love meets intention, magic happens—and Andrew and Colin’s purple and green wedding at Chapel in the Hollow is proof of that. Nestled in the heart of the East Tennessee woods, this beautiful summer ceremony was rich with color, emotion, and meaning—just the way a micro wedding should be. ✨🌲

If you’re dreaming of a personalized LGBTQ+ forest wedding that blends stunning aesthetics with heartfelt details, this one’s for you.

A Bold and Romantic Ceremony Setting

Andrew and Colin brought their vision to life by dressing our woodland chapel in bold dark purple and hunter green drapery, accented with soft lavender florals and wreaths on each pew. The rich jewel tones added depth and drama to the natural setting, while the lavender details brought in a soft, romantic vibe.

At Chapel in the Hollow, couples can customize the look of their ceremony space, and this color palette? Total perfection for a late summer wedding in the Smokies.

A Style-Forward Power Couple

These grooms did not come to play when it came to wedding fashion.

Andrew wore a tailored green suit with a purple bowtie, and Colin coordinated flawlessly in a purple suit with a green bowtie—flipping the colors in the most fabulous way. The symmetry and styling were on point, but it was their connection that truly stole the show.

Before the ceremony began, they helped each other straighten their ties, sharing quiet, affectionate moments that radiated joy and love. These simple gestures, beautifully captured by Star Noir Studio, made the day feel intimate and real from the very beginning.

A Whimsical Forest Ceremony with a Tolkien Twist

Andrew and Colin walked hand-in-hand down the aisle to the ethereal sounds of The Shire, setting the tone for a ceremony that was both magical and deeply emotional.

And then came one of the most personalized ceremonies we’ve ever witnessed.

Instead of a single officiant leading the way, six of their closest friends took turns speaking during the ceremony—each one offering something special. From stories of how they met the couple, to reflections on love and commitment, to a little dose of Shakespearean poetry, the ceremony felt sacred, joyful, and utterly unique.

They exchanged personal vows, baring their hearts in the best way. But it didn’t stop there. In a beautiful, tear-jerking moment, their guests were invited to make vows to them, symbolizing the love and support surrounding their union. It was community, connection, and celebration in its truest form.

Forest Portraits and Moody Magic

After their ceremony, we captured joyful portraits with all of their supportive family and friends, each photo brimming with emotion and laughter.

Then we stole the grooms away for some quiet couple portraits at the chapel and deep into the woods. The combination of soft light, mossy trees, and misty forest air made for the dreamiest, moodiest photos—exactly the vibe that so many couples crave when booking an East Tennessee elopement.

Their suits popped against the green canopy, and their love shone through in every shot. You can almost hear the forest whispering their vows back to them.

A Celebration Continued: Dinner at The Appalachian

After the ceremony and portraits, Andrew and Colin headed off to continue the celebration with a private dinner at The Appalachian—a refined culinary gem located just a short drive from the venue.

Whether you’re planning a wedding for 2 or 20, adding a private dinner or reception at a local favorite like The Appalachian can make your micro wedding feel full and luxurious, without the stress of a large event.

Love is Love—and This Wedding Was Full of It

From start to finish, Andrew and Colin’s LGBTQ+ wedding in the Smokies was a reminder that love is love, and that the best weddings reflect the uniqueness of the couple.

Their thoughtful vows, creative ceremony structure, and vibrant style made this one of the most heartfelt and joyful forest weddings we’ve hosted—and we’re honored they chose Chapel in the Hollow as the place to say “I do.”

From the Grooms:

Colin and Andrew met through social media and immediately hit it off. Their first date was full of long conversation and witty banter. Andrew proposed to Colin on a trip to visit family in England. While in the hills on the South Coast, Andrew popped the question with a backdrop of beautiful scenery and some curious cows. We love nature and mountains and exploring new places together. We are most excited to see all of our friends together.
