Rachel and Blake’s outdoor military wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a heartfelt celebration of love and commitment, beautifully underscored by Blake’s military service. They chose a stunning palette of gold and hunter green fabrics for the chapel, which were gorgeously paired with our bohemian florals and the romantic glow from our candle and lantern package, setting a majestic scene for their outdoor November ceremony.
Rachel looked absolutely breathtaking in an off-the-shoulder dress, the skirt of which flowed like liquid with every step she took. Blake, dignified and proud, wore his military uniform, adding a touch of solemnity and honor to the occasion.
Her sister played an integral role in helping her prepare for the big day, while her dad and brother shared the honor of walking her down the aisle. They chose to bring their own officiant, personalizing their vows in a ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
The atmosphere was further enhanced by a string quartet, which filled the air with melodious music, adding an elegant soundtrack to their special day. After exchanging vows and capturing family photos, Rachel and Blake shared a champagne toast and their first dance as a married couple, enveloped in the joy and support of their loved ones.
The celebration continued with couple photos around the lush property, from the tangled vines to the serene rock garden, capturing their first moments as husband and wife against the vibrant backdrop of the Smoky Mountains in fall.
At the end of their time with us, we got to try something a little different and fun. Rachel wanted a photo reminiscent of the cover of an old school romance novel so we got her down in the leaves for something unique.
Congratulations, Rachel and Blake! Your wedding was not just a union of hearts but a celebration of service, family, and enduring love. May your journey together be as beautiful and filled with joy as your wedding day!
From the Bride
Our first date was in Waynesville NC and it was just a casual evening with a drink. We chatted for hours and I couldn’t have been more nervous. Blake proposed and it was intimate and special. No big event or orchestrated moment. It was just us two at home and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I had always wanted my future proposal to go that way. To be more about the emotion and moment then about creating an over the top surprise experience. It was genuine and beautiful and a moment we shared with God. Blake was born and raised in East TN so we are close to home and decided it was the perfect place to get married. On or wedding day I look forward to seeing his face when I get to the archway. We are excited to share our love of each other and of God with our friends and family. I am excited about the intimate surroundings and just being in the moment with Blake. We love the outdoors, kayaking, walking the dog at the park. We love to travel and but also simple nights like going out to trivia and just enjoying the town.
