Outdoor Elopement in the Smoky Mountains – Nikki and Casey

Outdoor Elopement in the Smoky Mountains

Nikki and Casey joined us for an outdoor elopement in the Smoky Mountains. They dressed the chapel in white and blue fabric with our blue berry winter florals. Nikki is a photographer taking a break to get in front of the lens. She brought a long flowy veil for us to play with and a cute faux fur shawl. Congratulations, Nikki and Casey!
From the Bride:
We met at the gym and became friends. We would always make sure to say good morning each other everyday. I really didn’t notice that he was interested in me other than friends until my best friend told me one day that she had caught him looking at me more than once. I didn’t believe her until I started to notice the same thing happening. Still just friends he came to me one morning when I was having a very hard time and he ask me if I was okay. And I told him no. He ask if he could pray for me and I told him yes please.
From that day I knew there was something about him that was very special. And I knew one day we would be together.
We both have been through troubling times in our past and we both have come so far together. I quickly knew I loved him and didn’t want to live my life without him.
Our first date was out to eat but then he told me he had a surprise for me. I said ok. So after we ate he said he was going to take me somewhere. Well he did and it was the tattoo shop. Lol. He said I’m going to buy you a tattoo. I was very surprised and also was like , I have no idea what kind of tattoo to get on the spot. So we went inside and look through some things and I decided on a little arrow. But I told him if I got a tattoo, he was getting one with me. So we both got a matching tattoo of the arrow that evening.
Casey proposed to me on February 26, 2022. We are building a house and had been putting siding up on the outside for the past few months. So we had the scaffolding up and he told me we needed to go measure something on one of the windows at the top of the scaffolding. I climbed up first and he came up after me. As I turned around to help with what I through was to measure. He was down on one head with the ring in his hand. I started crying and shaking and the scaffolding did too. Of course I said yes! He got ip we hugged, kissed and took a selfie.
We thought about having a ceremony around home but we could never really find a place we liked. So a trip by my daughter her husband and our grand boys to vacation here and they invited us to come up and stay a few days with them. When we were ask to come stay. I had already been looking at venues in Tennessee and kept coming back to this cute little Chapel in Hollow. We talked about it and Casey said why don’t we just get married while we are there. So here we are at the little chapel that I fell in love with.
We are looking forward to the ceremony with it just being Casey and myself. I know it will be very special. Also the photos. I am also a photographer and I’m so excited for someone else to capture our memories.
We decided on Jan 20th, because it was one of the days after the rest of our family will be headed back home. We wanted this day to be just for him and myself. Jan 20th also falls on our oldest grandson’s birthday. Which is very special to us. Before we booked the date we did ask our grandson if we could get married on his birthday and he said yes.
For fun, we are really home bodies. We hang out together doing whatever. We both love the outdoors. So most of the time you will find us somewhere on the water or outside sometimes doing nothing but hanging out.
