Memorial Day Wedding – Amanda and Phillip

Amanda and Phillip – May 31, 2021

Memorial Day Wedding

On this gorgeous Memorial Day, we remember those who have died for our country. At Chapel in the Hollow, we are also celebrating new beginnings. Amanda and Phillip turned their family vacation into a wedding! She couldn’t stop smiling, and he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He forgot her wedding band so they used his father’s band during the ceremony. They dressed the chapel in navy fabric with our blue and yellow florals, and Amanda is the first to use our new blue and yellow bouquet — she made it look fantastic! Congratulations, Amanda and Phillip!!
From the Bride:
I worked with one of his best friends, and he set us up, twice lol. The first time he had RBF and I thought he hated me or something but the second time I got to hear him laugh and everything changed.
The first real date with just me and him ended up being a funny disaster. COVID had just reached it’s peak and while we were waiting in the car to go in the restaurant, I sat near a water bottle that the lid was loose on. My bottom was soaked and the seat of the car got cleaned in the process, transferring all the dirt to my dress. Then the restaurant lost our place in line and we had to go find somewhere else to eat, wet butt and all. We still had a great time.
We had been talking about taking a trip to Vegas because I have never been, and then he mentioned that would be a good place to get married. We basically had decided without really saying it out loud. Then one night, one of his friends that he had just met introduced me to another friend as Phillip’s fiancé. I then told Phillip he couldn’t take that title back away.
We didn’t know if we would have the time we originally planned for Vegas available, and my mom already had plans for us to stay during the Memorial Day holiday. Pigeon Forge is somewhere my family has stayed at several times a year for as long as I can remember and Phillip has never been, so I thought this would be the perfect way to introduce him to the area.
I’m most looking forward to Phillip seeing me in my dress, taking amazing pictures together (he hates pictures haha), and celebrating with our loved ones.
Memorial Day weekend of 2020 was the first weekend we “hung out” and got to know one another so it is basically our unofficial dating anniversary.
We collect bourbon and he would say we also collect guns. We also love having “food adventures” and just driving around and finding new and unique places to try.
