Local Fall Wedding – Kathy and Doug

Local Fall Wedding

Kathy and Doug – October 22, 2023

Kathy and Doug’s local fall wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was nothing short of spectacular. The chapel was bedecked in charming white and textured rust fabrics, adorned with our bohemian florals, and complemented by the deluxe pumpkin package. The atmosphere was a perfect blend of rustic and elegant.
Kathy, the epitome of grace, donned a spaghetti strap dress with a stylish side slit, while Doug exuded charm in jeans, a white dress shirt, and a suave vest. Their outfits perfectly mirrored their personality and the overall aura of the day.
Walking down the aisle to the melodies of Fleetwood Mac, Kathy and her son created a heartwarming moment filled with nostalgia and love. Doug started shedding tears as soon as he heard the music start up.
The celebration was officially kicked off with a heartwarming toast, uniting everyone in the room in a beautiful bond of joy and celebration. To add a unique touch to their special day, Kathy and Doug invited their guests to sign a record, creating a tangible memory that would forever remind them of this beautiful day.
Kathy and Doug’s wedding was a true celebration of love and family, creating moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
From the Bride:
We have known each other for several years. Funny.. there really was never a first date. We were friends for so long and things just transitioned slowly.
Another funny story.. there was no actual “proposal”. We would talk about getting married. We kept saying things like “once all the kids are out of the house” or “after we move and get settled in”. There was just always something. We were just talking one day and decided “lets do this”. I started looking into venues. We saw a picture of The Chapel in the Hollow on the internet and we both loved it. I had my date set and venue reserved prior to getting my “engagement ring”. We had planned on doing just wedding bands and he surprised me with a ring just last week!
I am so excited for so many things! ALL the things.. first of all, I am marrying my best friend and soul mate. I couldn’t ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I am equally excited to have all of our children in one place. We have a total of 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Everyone lives in different states so we have never had all 5 of our children in one place. Unfortunately, not all of the grandchildren will be here. I love the fall. It has always been my favorite season. The colors, the pumpkins and cooler weather all make fall a perfect time for a wedding.
Doug and I love to hike and try to get into the park at least every other weekend. We also like to take long drives and find new areas. We have a VW Beetle convertible so we put the top down, crank up the music and just drive. Usually we have no destination planned but we try to find new places to eat or grab a coffee.
