Green and Gold Forest Wedding
at Chapel in the Hollow
Ashley and Andrea – February 8, 2026
Ashley and Andrea’s green and gold forest wedding was the kind of celebration that feels deeply rooted — in love, in family, and in the quiet beauty of the East Tennessee woods. Nestled among towering trees and winter greenery, their February wedding day at Chapel in the Hollow was intimate, intentional, and filled with meaningful moments that reflected exactly who they are together.
For couples dreaming of a forest wedding with earthy tones, Ashley and Andrea’s day is a perfect example of how green and gold details can feel both timeless and romantic, especially in a natural setting like the Smoky Mountains.
A Timeless Green and Gold Forest Wedding Design
Ashley and Andrea chose to dress the chapel in hunter green and cream fabric, paired with Chapel in the Hollow’s soft white florals. The result was an elegant, grounded look that blended effortlessly into the surrounding woods. The deep green tones echoed the forest canopy, while the cream fabric added warmth and balance — a stunning palette for a winter forest wedding.
Green and gold weddings are often associated with richness and depth, and this design felt especially fitting against the muted winter landscape. The styling never felt overdone — instead, it enhanced the natural setting, allowing the forest itself to remain the star of the ceremony.
Thoughtful Attire with Earthy Elegance
Ashley looked absolutely radiant in a long white lace gown, finished with a veil and brown boots that added the perfect rustic touch. Her look was classic but comfortable — ideal for a woodland wedding where authenticity matters just as much as style.
Andrea complemented the setting beautifully in a green suit with brown and gold accents, tying seamlessly into the wedding palette. Together, their looks felt cohesive, intentional, and uniquely theirs — proof that wedding fashion doesn’t have to follow tradition to feel timeless.
Meaningful Family Moments from Start to Finish
One of the most touching parts of Ashley and Andrea’s day was the presence and involvement of their families. Both moms helped them get ready that morning, filling the space with laughter, support, and quiet emotion. These getting-ready moments set the tone for a day rooted in love and connection.
The ceremony itself was filled with symbolism. Andrea was walked down the aisle by her dad, while Ashley was escorted by her brother — two deeply meaningful moments that honored family bonds and made the ceremony even more heartfelt.
They exchanged moss agate and gold rings, a beautiful reflection of their earthy aesthetic and intentional approach to their wedding day. Moss agate, with its organic patterns and forest-inspired tones, was the perfect choice for a green and gold forest wedding.
Winter Portraits in the Smoky Mountain Woods
After the ceremony, family photos were taken at the chapel before the newlyweds slipped away for couple portraits. We wandered to some of Chapel in the Hollow’s favorite photo spots — the truck and the quiet road, where winter light filtered through the trees and wrapped Ashley and Andrea in soft, natural tones.
Though it was a cold February morning in East Tennessee, the warmth between these two made everything feel cozy in the best way. Their portraits captured not just the beauty of the forest, but the ease and joy they share together.
A Green and Gold Forest Wedding Full of Heart
Ashley and Andrea’s wedding is a beautiful reminder that love — in all its forms — belongs everywhere, especially in the woods. Their LGBTQ+ forest wedding was intimate, grounded, and full of quiet magic, perfectly aligned with the spirit of Chapel in the Hollow.
From the Brides
We met in 2015. Ashley worked at Publix as a manager, and I was a beverage vendor assigned to her store. I introduced myself to her as her new merchandiser, and that was it. I couldn’t stop thinking about her for some reason. We actually didn’t really ever say a word to each other for months. Once we exchanged numbers, we started getting to know each other and never looked back. Our first date was a double date on Valentine’s Day with Ashley’s sister. It was at a small amusement park called Magical Midway in Orlando. We rode a few rides and just hung out and had a blast! Many more dates to follow! Lots of Orlando Magic games!
We each proposed! Ashley proposed to me at Mohave Point in the Grand Canyon the day after our 5-year anniversary. She had me set my phone up to “take photos,” and as the phone was snapping away, she said, “One more.” I turned around, and she was down on her knee. At this point, I knew she had beaten me to it! A few months later, I had plans to propose to her on another trip we were on (we love to travel). My initial plans were to do it at the bottom of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado; unfortunately, we had a family emergency and had to cut the trip short to come home. Family always comes first. So now I had to improvise; we were back on the road, but this time we were in Nashville. There’s this painting of angel wings called the What Lifts You mural that felt like the perfect spot for me to propose to Ashley, and that’s the story!
We love traveling to the Smoky Mountain area with our families. There’s just something about the area that keeps drawing us back. We’ve talked about getting married and planning a wedding before, tried to find where, and never could decide on a destination. We found Chapel in the Hollow, and we fell in love! It was perfect for what we’re looking for. On our wedding we are looking forward to finally being married! It’s our 10-year anniversary on the day of our wedding. We can’t wait to share this moment with our close families.
We love to travel!! We love to rent a van and do a quick “van-life” conversion, and take off for a week or two. We love challenging ourselves with hikes and adventures in new places. We love to support local and go to farmers’ markets. We share a common love for basketball. If we’re not traveling, we’re definitely homebodies at home with our plants!
