Friday the 13th Wedding – Jacqueline and Ronnie

Bold Friday the 13th Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Jacqueline and Ronnie – February 13, 2026

Some love stories are soft and subtle. Others are bold, passionate, and unforgettable. Ronnie and Jacqueline’s Friday the 13th wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was the latter in every possible way—and proof that this famously “unlucky” date can actually be the perfect choice for couples who want something meaningful, dramatic, and unapologetically unique.

Nestled in the forests of East Tennessee, Chapel in the Hollow is known for its romantic woodland setting and relaxed micro wedding experience. For Ronnie and Jacqueline, it offered the ideal backdrop to bring their gothic-inspired vision to life while still keeping the day intimate, emotional, and true to who they are as a couple.

A Moody Red and Black Forest Wedding Design

To set the tone for their Friday the 13th celebration, Ronnie and Jacqueline transformed the chapel with red and black fabric paired with lush red rose florals. The contrast against the natural Smoky Mountain forest created a look that was both dramatic and deeply romantic. Lanterns lined the steps of the chapel, adding a warm glow that made the space feel mysterious, intimate, and cinematic—especially as the light filtered through the trees.

This design choice leaned fully into gothic wedding vibes while still feeling elevated and timeless. It was bold without being overdone, and perfectly suited for a couple who wanted their wedding day to feel powerful rather than traditional.

A Gothic Bride and a Perfectly Matched Groom

Jacqueline absolutely stole the show. She wore a strapless red corset gown with black lace edging, layered with a delicate lace shrug and finished with a black veil—an iconic look that blended elegance with edge. Her bouquet of red roses, accented with jewel details, tied everything together beautifully and added just the right amount of sparkle to the moody palette.

Ronnie complemented Jacqueline’s look effortlessly in a black and red dress shirt paired with jeans, striking that perfect balance between relaxed and edgy. The two of them together were a visual statement—confident, connected, and completely themselves.

One of the most emotional moments of the day came when Jacqueline’s dad walked her down the aisle. Against the dramatic backdrop and glowing lanterns, the moment felt deeply powerful and intimate, reminding everyone present that even the boldest weddings are rooted in love and family.

Friday the 13th Wedding Portraits with a Twist

After their ceremony, the celebration continued with family photos at the chapel before heading out to some of our favorite nearby portrait locations. Ronnie and Jacqueline embraced the theme fully with couple portraits at the road, the truck, and the graveyard—locations that perfectly matched their gothic Friday the 13th aesthetic and made their gallery truly one of a kind.

Despite the dramatic styling, the day itself was surprisingly warm for February in East Tennessee, proving that Friday the 13th doesn’t bring bad luck—just unforgettable memories and incredible wedding photos.

Why Friday the 13th Is Perfect for a Unique Micro Wedding

Ronnie and Jacqueline’s wedding is a perfect example of why more couples are embracing Friday the 13th weddings, especially for micro weddings and elopements. The date adds meaning, symbolism, and personality, and it allows couples to break away from tradition in a way that feels intentional and empowering.

At Chapel in the Hollow, we love working with couples who want to do things their own way—whether that means a gothic color palette, a nontraditional date, or a wedding day that feels more like an experience than an event.

From the Bride

We met at work he moved back home and he transferred to my job location and we automatically hit it off on the first day. We went to texas roadhouse on our first date and it was great! After 6 months of dating he asked me to marry him on Halloween because its my favorite holiday.

We decided to get married in the Smokies because its so beautiful. On our wedding day we can’t wait to be husband and wife forever and are looking forward to sharing the day with family and friends. We had joked while dating that we would get married on Halloween but we did not want to wait till Oct 2026 so best next thing is Friday the 13th.  We love to go out to eat and spend time with family,
