Getting Married in the Smoky Mountains – Briana and Jacob

Briana and Jacob – August 22, 2020

Getting Married in the Smoky Mountains

Getting married in the Smoky Mountains is a great way to celebrate your wedding day! Briana and Jacob joined us all the way from Kentucky for our second wedding August 22nd. Thanks to the earlier downpour, it had cooled off a bit, and she scheduled close to sunset for the darker, moodier look. I loved the brightly colored florals she chose — they pop so beautifully in pictures. She and Jacob have such lovely chemistry together! Briana and tomorrow’s bride, Brittney are good friends and chose to get married here the same weekend which means we get to see Briana again tomorrow! Congratulations, Briana and Jacob!
From the Bride:
We met through mutual friends. Summer of 2017 is the year we first met, but we didn’t go on our first date until March of 2018! Not going to lie, we didn’t think much of it summer 2017. We went on a couple 4-wheeler rides together and just hanging out with some mutual friends. So 2018 comes along I decided to message him one night a couple of our pictures/videos I found of us from summer 2017, and we decided shoot why not go on a date together!? So here we are getting married. Who would have thought it would have led to this? Our friends that introduced us are actually getting married the day after us August 23rd at this very place! Meeting Jake for me was truly a blessing. I have a young daughter that is 4. It was just us 2 for a while. Then, Jake came into our lives and showed us both love that is unbelievable. He has truly been a blessing to us both and I wouldn’t want to spend my life with anyone else.
I would say we had about the best first date you could go on! Everything was a little awkward of course at first because we were actually on a date for the first time with each other, but we went to Logan’s Roadhouse, sat for hours, ate and talked about a little of everything. We actually talked so much he got carried away and left his debit card and had to go back the next day and get it haha. We came back to our friends’ house who introduced us which are also my neighbors and there we talked for hours more! I just remember how sweet and adorable he was. ????

Our proposal was at Perfect North Slopes. February 1st, 2020. He had been planning a proposal for a while, and everyone had kept such a good secret.  He had the ring for months but was not for sure where he wanted to propose to me at. My family had planned a tubing trip to Perfect North Slopes so he decided this would be the perfect time.
My cousin’s wife Katie is a videographer. He had called or messaged her the night before and had everything set up. So the day of I really wasn’t thinking nothing of it. Even though I thought it was a little weird he needed a haircut (I’m a hairdresser, so I had to go cut his hair) and he said he had to go over to my parents house to talk to my dad about something which was normal haha. But I was just thinking Katie was just taking a video of the kids and all of us on this day but turned out she was really capturing his proposal!! We got to the top of the mountain and he walked me over to ourselves and started talking to me about how much he loved us and wanted to spend his life with me and so much more but being in the moment I was going in shock haha. Then I knew from there what was about to happen and he got down one knee and asked me to marry him.

Covid-19 unfortunately messed up our original wedding plans so we decided to do something smaller and get married! No need to wait any longer. We saw your beautiful small chapel and fell in love. We love the outdoors and mountains. Couldn’t have been more perfect.
What are we looking forward to most? Seeing each other for the first time that day! We want some rocking wedding pictures!
We have a RZR and a boat so you will find us in the woods or on a lake somewhere. We love being with family and friends. We also enjoy our date nights together. Which usually consist of going out to eat and the movies.Getting Married in the Smoky Mountains
