Easygoing Fall Elopement – Lynn and Chris

Easygoing Fall Elopement in the Smoky Mountains

Lynn and Chris – November 26, 2025

An intimate, effortless celebration at Chapel in the Hollow

When it comes to planning an easygoing fall elopement, Lynn and Chris created the perfect blend of relaxed charm and heartfelt connection at Chapel in the Hollow — our intimate forest wedding venue tucked into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Their day was simple, joyful, and beautifully true to who they are as a couple, making it an absolute delight from beginning to end.

A Warm, Sunny Smoky Mountain Afternoon

Fall in East Tennessee is always a treat, and Lynn and Chris’s elopement landed on one of those rare warm, golden days when the forest glows and the leaves shimmer overhead. The soft breeze through the trees and the warm sunlight filtering across the chapel created an atmosphere that felt cozy, peaceful, and perfect for a couple looking for a stress-free micro wedding.

To personalize the space, they chose hunter green and champagne fabric along with our succulent floral collection, which added earthy texture and soft elegance. The combination complemented the natural surroundings and brought out the warm tones of the fall foliage — an ideal match for couples wanting a laid-back autumn palette.

You can explore more of our décor options and seasonal inspiration on our Chapel Styles page.

Effortless Wedding Style

Lynn embodied the spirit of a carefree fall bride in the sweetest way. She wore an adorable sleeveless dress from Lulus, paired with short boots that were stylish and comfortable for wandering the forest paths. The look was breezy, effortless, and perfectly in tune with her down-to-earth personality.

Chris kept things just as relaxed in a green dress shirt and jeans — a reminder that elopements can be simple, personal, and completely free from pressure. After all, what better way to enjoy a fall day in the Smokies than dressed in something that lets you move, breathe, and enjoy the moment?

Hair and makeup were done by the talented team at Shear Madness Salon, giving Lynn a polished yet natural glow that fit the easygoing vibe of the day.

A Ceremony Filled With Heart

Their ceremony, officiated by Ian Parrott, was intimate and heartfelt — a quiet moment tucked away in the woods, surrounded by the rustle of leaves and the soft sunlight drifting through the trees. With no distractions and no pressure, they were able to focus entirely on each other, creating a memory that felt meaningful, personal, and deeply peaceful.

Rings came from Kay Jewelers and Alpine Rings, adding a touch of sparkle to their simple woodland celebration.

Wandering the Woods for Golden-Hour Photos

After the “I dos,” we wandered the property with Star Noir Studio for portraits that showcased both the couple and the beauty of the venue. Lynn and Chris explored some of our favorite photo spots:

  • The highland area, glowing with warm afternoon light

  • The forest road, where sunbeams peek through the tree canopy

  • The open field with mountain views, a perfect spot for sweeping fall portraits

These locations are part of what makes Chapel in the Hollow such a dreamy place for elopements — no hiking, no crowds, just easy access to scenic backdrops that feel like the national park without needing a permit. You can learn more about planning your own elopement on our How It Works page.

A Day Filled With Easy, Happy Love

Lynn and Chris’s wedding day was everything a fall elopement should be — relaxed, bright, full of sunshine and laughter, and centered around what matters most: celebrating love in its most sincere and uncomplicated form. Their easygoing energy made the day feel warm and joyful, the perfect reflection of their personalities.

If you’re dreaming of your own easygoing fall elopement in the Smoky Mountains, we would love to help you create a day just as heartfelt and beautiful. Explore our availability, packages, and elopement resources at chapelinthehollow.com.

From the Bride

We met on Facebook Dating. We had a very casual first date, we watched a hockey game and had pizza. Chris proposed on Valentine’s Day of this year. We like to be outdoors and hike and occasionally look for geo caches. We purchased a house together last fall and I wanted to try a new hiking trail not far from our house. So on Valentine’s Day just as it started to snow Chris suggested we go check it out. When we got there he said let’s see if there are any geo caches and there was! He was reading the clues and I was leading the way. I found the can and took it down. There was a sweet note inside from Chris and then he dropped down on one knee and proposed in the woods with the snow falling like a snow globe. I was completely surprised! How neat is it to now get married in the woods!

We wanted to elope and enjoy the outdoors and mountains. We have never been to TN but found Chapel in the Hollow and thought it would be perfect for our wedding.  We are looking forward to an intimate ceremony tucked away in the woods.

We like the outdoors. We like to fish (both summer and ice fish.) Chris likes to hunt as well. We enjoy sports and music. We enjoy spending time with our kids (5 between the two of us- all of them in their 20s) and our family. But we also value quiet nights at home just the two of us as well.
