Do I Need a Wedding Planner?

Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the goblin city […] for my will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom is as great. –Labyrinth

I used this quote as part of the valedictorian speech I gave at my high school graduation. Something about this quote has always resonated with me–I have great respect for people who keep pushing through adversity and hardships to try to reach their goals.

Planning a wedding takes persistence and dedication, too. If it gets to be too much, don’t be afraid to call in the cavalry–parents, siblings, best friends, that girl who walks your dog sometimes, the guy at the kinko store… If you put them all to work and still need more hands, hiring a wedding planner/designer might not be such a bad idea. They can also help you create a polished look that can be difficult to pull off if you aren’t used to coordinating events and thinking about all of the details.
