Classic Western Micro Wedding – Lauren and Matt

Lauren and Matt – June 11, 2022

Classic Western Micro Wedding

Lauren and Matt joined us for a classic western micro wedding. They dressed the chapel in white and hunter green fabric with our succulent florals. Her super cute dress was two pieces — brilliant. He was dressed in suede with a bolero tie (so neat). Matt’s dad performed the ceremony and did a great job. Congratulations, Lauren and Matt!!
From the Bride:
Mathew sent me a friend request on Facebook in July of 2021. After I accepted it, he sent me a message asking if I was single and then proceeded to tell me how pretty he thought I was and eventually asked me if he and I could start talking. He was very kind and respected any boundaries I had in place. We messaged back and forth for more than a month before we finally had a day that was good for the both of us to go on a date.
We drove individually and met at Texas Roadhouse in Kingsport. It just so happened that T.R. is both of our favorite restaurant. Thankfully, they weren’t that busy as we took up our booth for more than two hours. The waitress told us she could tell it was our first date and was more than happy to keep us comfortable for as long as we wanted to be there. We did finally wrap it up there and went on a drive around town, we both have a love for cars, and trucks, and just driving all together. I never wanted that night to end. He was so handsome, and he was such a gentleman. He held open doors for me, he paid for the date, he had a really great sense of humor, and we had more things in common than not. He did end the night with a kiss, very sweetly on the lips and told me he couldn’t wait until the next time we could get together. I can honestly say that was the best date I had ever been on.
Matthew proposed. Because we live and work an hour apart from each other, it’s very uncommon I get to see him on a weekday. But this particular day I had heard the front door open as I was doing the dishes, so I was startled. He popped his head around the corner of the kitchen and said he needed to get into the safe for a minute. I didn’t think nothing about it, until he came rushing down the hallway back to the kitchen and said “OKAY” very loudly. As I turned around from the sink, he was down on one knee with the open ring box in his hand and he said, “Will you marry me?” After I spouted a hundred yes’s and kissed him 20 times, he stood up and said “Shew, I had to do it today, I couldn’t wait any longer”.
I decided on a wedding in East Tennessee because I was born and raised in Northeast Tennessee, and have always known I would have my wedding in the mountains. Matthew is from New Mexico, so he just goes with the flow, and he is happy as long as we are getting married. I can’t wait to be finally marrying the man of my dreams. I picked June because it’s also my birth month, so it’s my favorite month 🙂 The numbers just looked pleasing to us having both the double ones and the doubles twos. Strange way of looking at things, but that’s okay.
We could be doing absolutely nothing, but as long as are together, that’s all that matters to us. We tend to spend Friday night date nights as Texas Roadhouse before venturing on to Walmart to people watch and grocery shop.
