Chill + Spooky October Elopement in the Smoky Mountains
Ashton and Cameron – October 9, 2025
A Moody Micro Wedding with Laid-Back Vibes and Forest Magic
Not every wedding needs to be big, bold, or busy. Sometimes the most unforgettable love stories are the ones whispered beneath the trees, wrapped in fog, candlelight, and fall leaves.
That was the vibe when Ashton and Cameron said“I do” at Chapel in the Hollow during their chill and slightly spooky October elopement — and let us tell you… it was chef’s kiss perfection.
From the first moment they stepped onto the forest floor, it was clear they were doing things their way. Relaxed. Romantic. A little mysterious. A lot of love.
Minimal Styling, Maximum Mood
While many couples choose florals or fabric to decorate the chapel, Ashton and Cameron went full moody minimalist, opting for no fabric or flowers at all. Instead, they selected our candle and lantern package, creating an ambient glow that enhanced the natural beauty of the forest and made their ceremony feel cozy, intimate, and otherworldly.
This setup is ideal for couples drawn to the mystical vibes of the Smoky Mountains — especially in October, when the leaves are turning, the air is crisp, and the forest feels like it’s holding its breath for something magical.

A Sleek Bride + A Stylish Groom = Autumn Wedding Goals
Let’s talk fashion. Ashton looked breathtaking in a sleek white sheath dress that hugged her curves in all the right ways. It was elegant and understated, which only made her glow brighter. Paired with the natural surroundings and candlelight, the effect was ethereal.
Cameron kept it classic in a black suit that gave us all the timeless groom vibes with a slight edge — the kind of sharp look that balances perfectly against a rustic backdrop like ours.
Together, they were the ultimate fall wedding aesthetic — no frills, no fuss, just pure style and connection.
A Ceremony Steeped in Nature and Simplicity
Ashton and Cameron started their ceremony side by side on the chapel steps, surrounded by the sounds of rustling leaves and birdsong. No music, no procession, just the peaceful rhythm of nature and the sincerity of their love.
This kind of quiet intimacy is why couples choose elopements in East Tennessee — especially at Chapel in the Hollow. The forest wraps around you like a blanket, and the stillness makes every moment feel sacred.
Their officiant, Ian Parrott, delivered a heartfelt ceremony that perfectly matched their relaxed energy and left everyone smiling through misty eyes.
A Little Bit Spooky, a Whole Lot of Fun
As soon as they said“I do,” we knew it was time to lean into their spooky season personalities. These two wanted to celebrate their love their way, so we ventured to some of the more atmospheric spots on the property:
The mossy tree: A fan-favorite and forever photogenic.
The Graveyard: Our newest photo location for those who like a little gothic with their romance.
The road: Where playful shots gave us vintage elopement movie vibes.
The field: Always a must, especially when October light is streaming over the mountains like melted gold.

Moody Portraits to Match Their Aesthetic
Their post-ceremony portraits — captured by Star Noir Studio — were dripping with golden light, forest shadows, and those soft moments of connection that happen when two people are fully present with one another.
From the soft hand-holding to the stolen glances, Ashton and Cameron brought an authenticity that made the photos sing. That’s the kind of magic that happens when a couple feels totally at ease — and that’s exactly what we strive to create for every elopement at Chapel in the Hollow.
The Beauty of a Chill October Elopement
October in the Smoky Mountains is one of the most popular months for elopements, and for good reason:
The foliage is at its peak — glowing with reds, oranges, and golds.
The lighting is dreamy — think soft shadows and amber sunsets.
The temps are cool but comfy — perfect for suits, long sleeves, and lace.
The mood? Utterly romantic.
Whether you’re planning a last-minute escape like Ashton and Cameron or have been dreaming of a moody forest elopement for months, this is your sign: October is IT. And the Chapel in the Hollow team is here to make it easy, stress-free, and stunning.

From the Bride
We met through work. We were on a work trip in Northern Norway and ran into each other in a teepee. We were living in the UK at the time. We met around Christmas and for our first official date, we decided to meet in Paris for a weekend around the holidays. It was a blast. We drank wine and ate cheese.
Cameron proposed. He moved to Tennessee for me to be closer to my family and we had just decided to buy a house and settle down. We were at home in our living room, and he just asked me. We were in our home laughing together, just the two of us, and it was perfect.
We decided to get married in East Tennessee because we live like 20 minutes away and we wanted to elope. We also really wanted to go for a moody Appalachian vibe, so your venue seemed perfect. I’m looking forward to the two of us having a day that’s special to ourselves. For me, the most important aspect of having a wedding, instead of going to the courthouse, was to have really nice pictures that we can look at and love for the rest of our lives. There was not a special reason for choosing this date it is completely random and based on availability in our schedule.
We are outdoors people. We love anything spooky or a little weird. We spend most of our date nights at home, watching a movie (usually a horror movie). We’re excited to be here doing this with you.
