Sweet Forest Elopement in the Smoky Mountains
Sam and Austin – October 9, 2025
A Simple, Elegant, and Family-Centered October Wedding
When it comes to fall weddings in the Smokies, there’s something extra magical about keeping things simple, spontaneous, and full of heart. That’s exactly what Sam and Austin embraced when they chose Chapel in the Hollow for their last-minute forest elopement — and the result was pure woodland romance.
This cozy October micro wedding tucked in the East Tennessee woods was the definition of effortless charm, proving that you don’t need a year of planning to create a day that’s full of beauty, love, and memories you’ll never forget.
A Dreamy Forest Setting for a Sweet “I Do”
The couple kept the styling simple and chic — crisp white fabric and matching white florals adorned the chapel, creating a clean and classic canvas that let the natural woodland backdrop shine. Add in the warm, romantic glow of our lantern package, and this little clearing in the woods was transformed into an intimate haven for love.
This neutral palette is a favorite among eloping couples because it feels timeless and effortlessly elegant. Plus, it pairs beautifully with the rich tones of fall foliage that blanket the Great Smoky Mountains this time of year.

Sam’s Bridal Look: Sophisticated Simplicity
Sam stunned in a sleek off-the-shoulder gown from Lulus, featuring a subtle train and delicate button detailing down the spine — classic with just the right amount of flair. A long, beaded veil added that whisper of bridal drama, fluttering gently in the October breeze.
Her hair and makeup by Southern Sirens was polished and soft, enhancing her natural beauty with just enough glow to shine under the forest canopy. The whole look was equal parts relaxed and radiant — the perfect vibe for a Smoky Mountain elopement.
A Stylish Groom and Two Adorable Ring Bearers
Austin looked effortlessly handsome in a tailored grey suit from Satin & Lace Bridal Boutique, complementing the soft fall hues all around. But let’s be honest — it was their two sons, dressed in matching mini black suits, who truly stole the show.
Their youngest was carried down the aisle by Dad, while Mom walked down with their older son, creating a moment that melted everyone’s hearts. It was the perfect blend of elegance and family-centered love — something that’s at the core of many weddings here at Chapel in the Hollow.

Making It Work with Little Ones
Let’s talk real talk: bringing toddlers to a wedding — even your own — can be a lot. That’s why we were so grateful to have Southern Sitters on site to help keep the little ones entertained while Sam and Austin had their portraits taken post-ceremony.
It’s always a great idea to hire a nanny or sitter during a family elopement so you can soak in those just-married moments without worrying about snacks, diaper bags, or tiny shoes wandering off into the woods.
A Simple Ceremony, A Beautiful Start
Their ceremony was full of smiles, laughter, and tender moments. With the lanterns glowing softly and their boys watching from nearby, Sam and Austin exchanged vows and rings from Kay Jewelers, sealing the deal with a kiss beneath the trees.
Afterward, we celebrated with a quick toast, a few group photos, and then let the couple enjoy a little time to themselves. Star Noir Studio captured it all — from the candid laughter to the quiet glances — with the dreamy, golden October light painting everything in warm tones.

Portraits in the Forest & Mountains
Once the family moments were wrapped, we whisked Sam and Austin away for romantic couple portraits in some of our favorite spots on the property. Think mossy tree stumps, filtered light through fall leaves, and that epic field with mountain views that takes your breath away every time.
It’s hard to describe the quiet joy that comes with slipping away from the group for a few minutes after your vows. With no distractions, no noise, and nothing but the two of you surrounded by nature — that’s where the real magic happens.
Sometimes, the Best Moments Are Unplanned
Sam and Austin’s wedding wasn’t planned a year in advance. It wasn’t a massive production. It wasn’t filled with extravagance. And that’s what made it so special.
This wedding was a reminder that you can say yes to love — just as you are, with what you have, where you are — and create something extraordinary.
So if you’re in the middle of planning your wedding and feeling overwhelmed… pause. Breathe. And remember: it doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful. It doesn’t have to be traditional to be beautiful. And it certainly doesn’t have to be perfect to be yours.
From the Bride
We met through mutual friends in 2016. Our first date was a wild night out on the town at the beach. He proposed to me on Christmas morning.
My family lives near Oak Ridge, Tennessee so the Smoky Mountain have just always been a part of my life and it will be the perfect place for us to get married. On our wedding day I can’t wait to marry my soon to be husband! I am also looking forward to seeing my boys all dressed up.We love to go to dinner and see a movie.
