Bohemian Micro Wedding
Abbey and CJ โ November 22, 2024
Abbey and CJ chose Chapel in the Hollow for their romantic bohemian micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains. They transformed the chapel with champagne fabric, our bohemian fall florals, and the cozy glow of our candle and lantern package.ย Abbey brought a gorgeous live floral bouquet that matched the dรฉcor beautifully.
The day was filled with heartfelt moments, and we loved seeing Abbeyโs mom and friend step in to help her get readyโshe looked absolutely stunning in her off-the-shoulder lace dress with a short train and a medium-length veil edged in pearls.ย Her half-up hair and flawless makeup made her the picture of perfection.ย CJ kept it laid-back yet stylish in jeans, a white dress shirt, a green textured vest, and a tan suit jacket, complete with a bolo tie.
Their flower girl had a little stage fright, so her dad stepped in to help her toss the petalsโsuch a sweet moment!ย Family members played the guitar and sang as Abbey walked down the aisle with her dad, adding a personal touch that gave everyone chills.ย Her uncle offered a prayer during the ceremony, and Abbeyโs vows to her new stepson made everyone tear up.
They also created a memory table to honor loved ones who couldnโt be there, and set up a simple cheesecake on their cake table.ย We were blessed with some perfect lighting for post-ceremony photos, capturing all the love of the day.
Congratulations, Abbey and CJ!ย Your day was a beautiful celebration of love, and we were honored to be a part of it.
From the Bride:ย
We both worked for Nuclear Fuel Services at the time and while filling in on the company softball team, I met CJ. He wasnโt hard to miss however, you would definitely hear him before you saw him lol. He welcomed me in on the team and made me feel like I had been apart of it the whole time. I admired how outgoing he was and how proud he was when he talked about his son. Thatโs where our love story started.
Our first date was at Warpath Lanes in Kingsport, TN. I remember looking at cj and feeling like Iโd known him my whole life. The only thing I knew was that was the last first date I would ever go on. I told him before we parted ways that evening, that he would be my husband one day. I just knew.
CJ proposed on my family beach trip in June of 2023. I knew he had gotten a ring for months, and in my mind thought it would be perfect if he waited until the beach so we would all be together to celebrate. He of course tricked me into thinking he didnโt bring the ring on the trip and I was all upset. Only to be surprised by his proposal a day later. He did it in the driveway of the house we were staying at. 113 13th Ave N. Surfside Beach, SC. The most CJ way possible, and I loved how authentic it was. It was just the two of us in our moment and I wouldnโt have it any other way.
CJ and I were both raised in East Tennessee. The smoky mountains hold a special place in our hearts, and I couldnโt think of a more fitting place to have our bohemian micro wedding. As CJ and I have gotten to know each other, it turns out we have a lot of similar childhood stories. We have visited a lot of the same places and both appreciate simple aspects of life. That is what East Tennessee represents to us.
Iโm most looking forward to seeing CJ at the end of the aisle, surrounded by my favorite people in the world. It is something Iโve dreamed about for 3 and a half years. That is what Iโm looking forward to most and the moments right after โI doโ. I want to hold on to those feelings forever.
Everything I have planned so far just seems to hold significance. The place I randomly chose to stay for the weekend after the wedding, come to find out, is the same place my parents stayed after their wedding, November 26, 1983. Everything just feels right. I have no explanation for the date. Just that it feels like our wedding date.
CJ and I have bonded over our love for Gatlinburg, sports, and the beach. We have similar childhood vacation spots and we enjoy any time we get to revisit. Sitting and listening to music on the Garden City pier, eating bone-in ribeyes at our favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg, or cheering on the Vols in Neyland, CJ and I have the best time together. We can be sitting on our back patio building a fire or cleaning house, Iโve realized I wouldnโt want to do any of it without him.
