Autumn Wedding in the Mountains – Devon and Robert

Autumn Wedding in the Mountains

Devon and Robert – October 27, 2024

Devon and Robert’s autumn wedding in the mountains was a celebration wrapped in the vibrant hues of fall and the rustic charm of the Smoky Mountains.  They chose peach and textured rust fabric complemented by our bohemian florals to beautifully adorn the chapel, setting a warm, welcoming tone for their special day.
Devon looked stunning in a spaghetti strap dress featuring an illusion top and a daring slit in the front, paired with a long train of flowing layers that caught the mountain breeze.  Robert kept it casually chic in jeans and a crisp white dress shirt, perfectly suited for their relaxed mountain vibe.
The morning was filled with heartfelt preparations as Devon’s mom and a close friend helped her get ready, sharing tears and laughter. She gifted custom handkerchiefs to her mom, bonus dad, dad, and bonus mom, a touching gesture that brought even more tears of joy.
Their daughters added to the family-centric ceremony, with the older one charming as their flower girl, and a friend carrying the baby down the aisle. Devon’s dad proudly walked her down the aisle, a classic moment filled with emotion.
After exchanging vows, the newlyweds and their guests celebrated with a unique toast of moonshine, echoing the spirit of the mountains.  They then proceeded to do a quaint cake cutting with their elegant naked cake, saving the rest to share at their luncheon.
The magical day continued as we captured their love against the backdrop of the mountains in peak fall color, culminating in a surprise dance to their song, courtesy of a thoughtful friend, making their wedding not just a ceremony, but a celebration of their story and future together.
Congratulations, Devon and Robert! Your mountain wedding was as beautiful and heartfelt as the setting you chose. May your lives together be filled with as much beauty, love, and joy as your special day!
From the Bride
Me and Rob first met in 2020 at a mutual friends house. Of course, he didn’t remember but tries to play it off like he did. I will never let him forget it ahah. Then in 2022 we reconnected through bumble, went on our first date and spent pretty much every day together since. Our first date was great. He picked me up in his truck. OPENED THE CAR DOOR FOR ME! At that moment I was like wow this guy is a gentleman! Because who does that anymore?? No one! We went to a restaurant Radius. We ate and got to know each other. After, we walked around downtown Valparaiso chatting it up even more. The date ended by him walking me to my door and a hug goodbye.
Rob proposed. If you knew Rob you’d know he’s a total jokester. So we were at home and he kept making comments about the ring. Finally he called me into our bedroom and was like I have something to ask you. I was like ya??? He was like never mind. I stomped away all mad and he was like hey come back here and then asked me to marry him.
We initially planned on getting married this year in October but then found out we were expecting a baby. We cancelled the wedding because I didn’t want to have to stress about planning a wedding and creating a baby. My step daughters fall break landed on a weekend in October so I was like hey let’s go Tennessee! Then I was like hey let’s get married while we are there! Rob was like okay! So I found Chapel in the Hollow and we invited all our closest family and friends to create a more intimate and meaningful wedding day for our autumn wedding in the mountains.
On our wedding day I look forward to marrying my best friend and sharing the last name of my daughter. There is nothing significant about this date for us however, ironically Rob’s twin brothers anniversary date with his wife is the 27th of March and it just so happens we are getting married on the 27th as well. Pretty cool if you ask me.
We are so busy with work and our daughters sport schedule but when we get a minute we enjoy a nice golf cart ride around the neighborhood and relaxing around the fire or in the garage watching football.
