Outdoor Micro Wedding – Laura and Jeff

Laura and Jeff – July 25, 2020

Outdoor Micro Wedding

For our first outdoor micro wedding on July 25th, Laura and Jeff joined us from Illinois. It quickly started to storm after their wedding, but that didn’t stop them from striking a pose or two! These two met at work and have been together for 17 years. Woot!! She looked extra amazing in the lace dress with her hair and makeup by Southern Sirens. Congratulations Laura and Jeff!!

From the Bride:

We met while working together. We were “pod partners”. We’ve been together ever since. 2020 marks 17 years of being together. We’ve had some rollercoaster curves through the years, but our commitment to each other has always managed to stay at the forefront of our minds. We’ve been blessed with a big blended family of 7 kids and have 2 Granddaughters with another one on the way! There seems to always be some kind of chaos going on with this big of a family, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

For the first date,  he surprised me and took me to see Fiddler on the Roof at the U of I Broadway Series. After a couple of stressful years behind us this past Christmas it was just a discussion of we might as well make this legal. We chose East Tennessee for our outdoor micro wedding because we love the area, and this venue fit everything I could have wanted for an intimate ceremony with just my family. For my wedding day, I most looked forward to my boys walking me down the aisle and our entire family being together.

The date didn’t really have any significance at first. Originally we were trying to find a date that Jeff’s youngest son could make it to with the idea that he was possibly deploying in September and we also wanted something that was a few months after my daughter’s wedding. July popped up a few times in the discussion and then it just seemed to fit since our first date was in July.

Smoky Mountain Elopement – Melanie and Eric

Melanie and Eric – July 23, 2020

Smoky Mountain Elopement

Melanie and Eric joined us for our second Smoky Mountain elopement on July 23rd all the way from Mississippi for a sweet and simple experience. They were married to the roar of thunder and the pitter patter of rain drops. These two are blending a family of 7, and they snuck off this week for some alone time and to make things official. They looked so classy in the traditional black and white. He snuck in a vest covered in fleurs-de-lis to show off his love for the Saints. They had such wonderful personalities, and we really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them!!

From the Bride:

We met at a bar during a night out. The first date was just to dinner at at steak house. He proposed on the beach We chose East Tennessee for our wedding so it would be easy and stress free. We are most looking forward to the pictures of the wedding day.  We love hanging out with friends. We love music. We love being on the water.

Pigeon Forge Elopement – Haley and Glenn

Haley and Glenn – July 23, 2020

Pigeon Forge Elopement

Haley and Glenn brought their families from Georgia to celebrate their Pigeon Forge elopement on July 23rd. When we took them to the nearby field, we got just enough clouds to make some amazing photos. It started sprinkling for a few minutes, but it didn’t put a damper on the day. These two lovebirds have been together for 10 years and have an angel of a daughter. Congratulations Haley and Glenn!!

From the Bride:

We met when we were middle schoolers at the local movie theater. Glenn proposed after a day spent together at the Georgia National Fair. We chose East Tennessee because we love spending time in the mountains and saw your wedding chapel and knew this is where we wanted to get married. We are most looking forward to finally being able to call each other husband and wife.

Gatlinburg Elopement – Kayla and Tom

Kayla and Tom – July 22, 2020

Gatlinburg Elopements

Kayla and Tom joined us on July 22nd with their families all the way from West Virginia for their Gatlinburg elopement. They had Robyn James from the Robyn James Ensemble play Country Road by John Denver as a little treat prior to the ceremony. Kayla looked lovely in her Macy’s wedding dress, and Tom looked so handsome in his Haggar suit. Congratulations Kayla and Tom!!

From the Bride:

Tom’s sister was dating my cousin and they set us up! They are no longer together, but Tom and I are now getting married 10 years later! The first date was a double date, along with the couple who set Tom and me up. We ate Mexican food and saw Toy Story 3 at the movie theatre. I knew he was a keeper, on the first date, when he mentioned having read one of her favorite books! Tom surprised me with a simple, yet romantic proposal at home. Neither Tom or I have been to Tennessee, so we had planned a vacation in the area for our 10-year anniversary. Tom surprised me with the proposal, having actually planned all along during vacation-booking that they would get married while in the area!

I was most looking forward to celebrating our love and (finally!) exchanging our vows! We chose the date because July 22, 2020 marks our 10-year anniversary. We love having movie/Netflix nights in, playing tennis and disc golf together, and spending time with our families and our 5yo tuxedo cat, Fitz.
