September Morning Micro Wedding – Alexia and Matthew

Relaxed Morning Micro Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Alexia and Matthew – September 6, 2025

Early fall in the Smoky Mountains is pure magic—cool morning breezes, soft golden light, and the forest just beginning to glow with autumn tones. For Alexia and Matthew, it was the perfect setting to say “I do” at Chapel in the Hollow, an intimate outdoor micro wedding chapel nestled in the Tennessee woods.

A Relaxed Morning “I Do”

Instead of planning a big, traditional wedding, Alexia and Matthew embraced the ease and intimacy of a relaxed micro wedding. Their September morning ceremony had a dreamy, fairytale feel, blending romance and fun with just the right touch of fall style.
The couple dressed the chapel in a striking palette of blush and black fabric, accented with moody florals from Chapel in the Hollow’s collection by Kochetova Flowers. The design created a perfect mix of soft elegance and bold drama, setting the stage for their vows in the forest.

Special Family Moments

Alexia was breathtaking in her strapless gown, her curled hair catching the light streaming through the trees. Before walking down the aisle, she shared a tearful first look with both her father and grandfather—a deeply touching moment that brought smiles (and happy tears!) to everyone present. Even more special, they both had the honor of escorting her to the ceremony, making memories she’ll treasure forever.
Matthew brought his own unique style, rocking a cowboy hat, jeans, and a suit jacket. His groomsmen joined in the fun with matching sunglasses, creating some unforgettable photos full of personality and charm. It was the perfect balance of relaxed Southern style and classic wedding tradition.

The Ceremony in the Forest

As family gathered around, the love and joy were contagious. The couple’s laughter, happy tears, and the support of their loved ones turned the moment into something truly magical. With the Smoky Mountain forest as their backdrop, every detail felt effortlessly natural—exactly what couples love about choosing Chapel in the Hollow for their wedding day.
The crisp September air, warm floral tones, and dappled sunlight made this morning wedding a dream. It was proof that you don’t need a grand ballroom or hundreds of guests to create something meaningful—you just need love, a beautiful setting, and the people who matter most.

Why Couples Love Morning Micro Weddings

Morning weddings at Chapel in the Hollow offer a peaceful, relaxed vibe that’s hard to beat. The lighting is gorgeous for photography, the temperatures are cooler (especially in early fall), and couples often find it allows them to spend the rest of the day celebrating in their own way—whether that’s a family brunch, a mountain adventure, or simply soaking in the moment together.
If you’re considering a micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains, Alexia and Matthew’s celebration is the perfect inspiration for how magical, personal, and stylish a small wedding can be.
From the Bride
We were friends in high school in Arizona. I moved to Georgia where my family was and furthered my education. Matthew messaged me to catch up and the rest is history. Our first date was mexican food and star gazing in the mountains afterwards. A photoshoot was booked since we had never had professional photos done as a couple. Matthew proposed during the photoshoot. We wanted an elopement that was intimate but also where we can have close family members to attend. I fell in love with the view of the mountains! We are looking forward to having everyone gathered to celebrate a special time.
