Stacie and Daniel – September 3, 2022
September Mini Wedding in the Smokies
Stacie and Daniel joined us for a September mini wedding in the Smokies. They dressed the chapel in lavender and white with our lavender florals and wreaths. They were oh so sweet and had to deal with some crazy humidity. Congratulations, Stacie and Daniel!
From the Bride:
We met through work. My first words to him was the jingle for the 80’s toy “My Buddy”…I sang the jingle and it was stuck in his head for days. I don’t even remember how we got on that topic, but it definitely broke the ice and he asked for my number a few days later! We never really had an official “first date”. After a few months of talking, I invited him over for dinner. I made tacos and we played board games and and watched movies. This was the first time he spent time with my children and they got along with him great! They even formed what they call “Team Dann” and beat me at some board games. Daniel proposed. It was supposed to be a surprise and I told him that he could propose when he felt the time was right. I wanted the big, elaborate proposal! So, family Christmas comes along, which consisted of myself, my kids, his kids, and my parents all at my house. It was as non traditional as you can get, with him slipping the ring on my finger and saying, “I want to make sure this fits” and then getting on one knee and asking me to marry him. My response, before saying yes, was “I didn’t even get to cry!” In the end, it was OUR perfect proposal and I wouldn’t change a thing!
We decided on an East Tennessee wedding because it is one of my favorite places to go. Our first blended family vacation was in Tennessee and he fell in love with it just as much as I did years ago. When we were deciding where to get married, Tennessee immediately came up. I started looking for places to get married around the area and found The Chapel in the Hollow website. The location was perfect and is completely us! I showed my fiancé the photos and he was was sold too! The Smoky Mountains, the rural setting, the fact that we can keep it small and informal and stay with our country upbringing complete the picture for us. We are looking forward to having our kids and family there to celebrate with us, it means everything to us. Also, the fact that the happily ever after we have both waited so long to have is finally ours!
For fun, we work out together, I collect country style art/antiques, he collects interesting bottles and cans from various breweries and distilleries. We have movie nights, take walks, go camping, have cookouts and bonfires. We don’t do typical date nights, we do things we haven’t done, go to restaurants that sound interesting or we want to try or go to the local winery or brewery.
