Ashley and Dylan – December 10, 2020
Rustic Elegant Elopement
For our second event of the day, Ashley and Dylan joined us for their rustic elegant elopement! They were both such sweethearts! Ashley’s lace dress just dripped rustic elegance, and she wore it well. Dylan’s combo was a fancy blend of casual sophistication that looked great next to Ashley. Ashley and a friend put their florals together and did an amazing job. Congratulations, Dylan and Ashley!!
From the Bride:
We met on Facebook. Our first date was dinner and a drive. Dylan picked me up for dinner and after that we went on a drive through his hometown. Just driving around talking. We still do that til this day. We had our second date the next night and have been inseparable ever since.
On our one year anniversary weekend we had planned to go to the restaurant where we went on our first date which we always said that on our anniversary we would go back there. We had also planned to go on a hike, which we had talked about doing forever but we were always so busy we never got around to it, that weekend we wanted to set aside time to do something we had been planning to do. That morning it was raining so the hike was a no go. Dylan had made me breakfast that morning which was nothing out of the normal (he spoils me). Then I started to put together a bathroom cabinet cause we weren’t going hiking and I needed to put together that cabinet. He suggested after we do that that we could go on a drive somewhere. Still not out of the normal for us. We decided to drive up the mountain where we went on our second date. We drove to the top of the mountain and there is a little store there and it has a look out tower and there was a lot of people there so we decided to drive up another road to an overlook. We got to the top and it was a little sketchy at first cause we couldn’t really find the overlook. We finally found it and there was a picnic table there. Me being a little it shorter than Dylan I hopped up on the table so I could see. Still in my mind not thinking about a proposal. Dylan asked me if I loved him and I said yes. Well he asked if i really loved him. With a confused look on my face I said yes. Like why in the world is he asking me this. STILL not thinking about a proposal. Dylan went to get something out of his pocket, I was thinking oh maybe its his phone to take pictures, no he pulled out a ring and asked if I loved him this much?! I thought he was joking! I said ” are you serious ?!? “. Of course I said YES. My family was in on it and everyone knew but me. He really surprised me!
I have been a bridesmaid for so many weddings ( just call me 27 dresses ), so to think about my own wedding I knew I didn’t want anything big or anything at all. When Dylan and I talked about the idea of marriage I told him I really didn’t want a wedding and he was totally fine with that. When he proposed we talked about some ideas about eloping. I knew I wanted pictures taken, so while looking around I found Chapel in the Hollow and it looked perfect and had everything we wanted.
We both love spending time with family. We enjoy the outdoors. Dylan is an advent hunter and we both love to fish. A typical date night is Dylan cooking steaks on the grill or smoking some type of meat, sitting on the deck or by the fire pit. We love being in each others company and just spending time together.
