Romantic Smoky Mountain Micro Wedding – Rachel and Daniel

Romantic Smoky Mountain Micro Wedding

Rachel and Daniel –   September 5, 2025

A Love Story Among the Trees in East Tennessee

When Rachel and Daniel envisioned their wedding day, they dreamed of something intimate, personal, and filled with meaning. They found the perfect place to bring that vision to life at Chapel in the Hollow—our cozy woodland chapel nestled in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.

Their romantic micro wedding was the perfect mix of elegance and personality. From dusty blue and cream details to heartfelt vows that left not a dry eye in the forest, their day was one for the storybooks.

A Soft & Dreamy Forest Ceremony

The couple chose to decorate the chapel in flowing cream and dusty blue draping, accented by blue and yellow florals from Chapel in the Hollow. The color palette gave the forest ceremony space a soft, dreamy glow—perfect for a late summer evening.

Rachel added her own creative touch with personalized wedding details: rustic crates, framed family photos, and a wooden “H” for guests to sign. These simple yet meaningful additions transformed the chapel into a space that felt uniquely theirs.

A Bride Radiating Effortless Beauty

Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her Monica Loretti gown from Bridal Boutique & Tux Shoppe. Her dress featured delicate spaghetti straps, an illusion bodice, and a flowing skirt with layers of texture—capturing the essence of effortless bridal elegance.

Getting ready was a family affair. Her mother helped her into her gown, while her father had the honor of walking her down the aisle. Daniel, waiting at the altar in his light gray suit from Men’s Wearhouse, couldn’t hold back his smile when he saw her for the first time.

A Ceremony Filled With Heart

The ceremony was made even more meaningful by Rachel and Daniel’s personal vows. Daniel spoke about their epic love story, and emotions ran high among family and friends as tears mixed with smiles beneath the forest canopy.

Their nephew proudly carried the rings, adding a sweet touch of family connection to the day. The love and support of their families surrounded them, creating an atmosphere of joy and warmth.

Portraits in the Smoky Mountains

After the ceremony, Star Noir Studio captured family portraits at the chapel before whisking Rachel and Daniel away for romantic couple shots. Together, they explored three breathtaking backdrops:

  • The intimate chapel ceremony site

  • A serene creekside location

  • A stunning mountain-view field at golden hour

Each spot highlighted the natural beauty of East Tennessee while showcasing the newlyweds’ undeniable connection.

A September Evening Full of Magic

Though the September evening was warm, the air was filled with the magic of Rachel and Daniel’s love story. Every detail—from the florals to the personalized décor—came together to create a celebration that was not only beautiful but deeply meaningful.

From the Bride

(For Context: Daniel and I met in New Hampshire – I am born and raised there, he had just moved there from Alabama where he was born and raised. He does have family that lives in NH). In May 2012, we were introduced by a mutual friend on the night of Daniel’s 21st birthday. We instantly made a connection and started dating shortly thereafter. The next six months were a whirlwind of adventures and emotions. Being young, stubborn, and trying to figure our lives out, we parted ways thinking we’d never see each other again. However, thirteen years later, fate had other plans. (For Context: In 2021 I moved to Nashville, TN and in 2024 Daniel moved to Ohio to work with his dad and going through a divorce). In June 2024, our lives crossed paths once again. What started as a message asking how each other had been quickly turned into hours-long phone conversations. Within two weeks, Daniel made the four-and-a-half-hour drive to Tennessee, and over the next few months, we spent weekends together, switching between Ohio and Tennessee, going on new adventures and reminiscing about old ones. By September, we decided that only seeing each other on weekends wasn’t enough, so Daniel moved to Tennessee. By May 2025, we both knew that this was going to be our forever; we were both finally back ‘home.’

Daniel proposed in our favorite creek that we have gone to countless times looking for arrowheads and glass pieces (similar to sea glass) We both find peace and feel more grounded walking creeks and taking adventures to check out waterfalls. Our engagement pictures were taken in the same creek that Daniel proposed.

We decided to get married here because we are vacationing there the same week, we both love the mountains, and it is a beautiful place! On our wedding day I am looking forward to becoming Daniel’s wife, seeing family we haven’t seen in almost a year and being in the mountains. We will have a few ‘symbols’ incorporated into our ceremony, most of which will be at the entrance of the chapel on our memorial set up.

White Birch Tree hearts – NH state tree
Camellia Flowers – AL state flower
Cowboy Boots – Nashville/TN  (both will be wearing)
