Rique looked radiant in her sleeveless gown with a layered, flowy train and sparkling pumps that caught the light with every step. Her mom and daughters helped her prepare, while her dad and son walked her down the aisle—moments filled with happy tears and laughter. I work for an insurance company. He called to get insurance and I had to go to his house. We were measuring something and he dropped the tape measure. He made a joke in a John Wayne impersonation and it made me laugh. For our first date we went to dinner. We talked and laughed. I ordered a beer and rack of ribs. I said ” Look I’m not like most girls. I am hungry, so I’m going to eat and I like to drink beer!”
Kenny proposed. It was New Year’s day. I had already bought a chair but wished I purchased 2. So I made him get up early with me so we could go get the other one. I was afraid it wouldn’t be there. I promised we wouldn’t be shopping all day so I wore sweatpants, no make-up, hair in a bun! We went to get brunch and he proposed. He was asking me all kinds of questions like, ” Can I deal with his mess for the rest of my life?” ( he is soo messy!) “Can I deal with him taking naps?” And so on. I was like dude we have been together for 7 years so I guess I can deal with it. I was not at all expecting him to propose. Then he pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him!
The chapel is beautiful and fits me so perfectly. We only live a couple hours away and decided it would be the perfect place to get married. On our wedding day we can’t wait to finally be “husband” and “wife” and not “boyfriend” and “girlfriend”. We like to go night fishing, bowling, drive-in.
