Personalized Micro Wedding

Detra and Luke joined us today for a micro wedding with lots of personalized style. They dressed the chapel in champagne and white then brought their own lovely boho florals and a few extras that looked fabulous! These two were sweet and fun, and they looked amazing! Congratulations, Detra and Luke!

From the Bride:

Detra is originally from Oklahoma and Luke is from Indiana and met in Louisville Kentucky in December 2019. Detra moved to Louisville after living in Alaska to be close to her sister and family. Luke and Detra met via online dating and planned to meet Christmas day after spending time with their families. It was a couple days before Christmas and Luke couldn’t wait any longer. He had just got back into town from working and told Detra he wanted to meet her tonight if she was available. She said yes and greeted him with a big smile at the door. Their first night out was New Years Eve and with a kiss started 2020 together as one.

Our first date was at Luke’s favorite Mexican restaurant. We had great conversation and found out we had similar family backgrounds, and we just hit it off from there. We shared many laughs and flirty smiles that night. And found our mutual love of margaritas and chips and salsa. Luke proposed May 27th 2021. Luke told me he had picked out a ring with his brother about a week before, he told me that it could be 3 to 4 weeks to get it back from the jeweler. We were planning a weekend getaway to Indianapolis the first week of June so I was thinking he would propose then. He proved me wrong and proposed one night before we went out for date night. I was totally surprised and he even pulled off secretly filming it on his phone. We celebrated afterwards at our favorite Mexican restaurant with dinner and margaritas!

The Smoky Mountains have been on my travel bucket list for years, I never would have imagined that I would be getting married there. Growing up, Luke’s family regularly vacationed to Gatlinburg so it has sentimental value for both of us. We are looking forward to bringing our families together, celebrating and creating a memorable day for everyone.

Luke and I both enjoy traveling, trying different restaurants and cuisine. We also love to get outside and enjoy drinks by the pool and go hiking together.
