Jess and Ben – October 9, 2022
October Wedding in the Smoky Mountains
Jess and Ben brought all their favorite people to us for an evening October wedding in the Smoky Mountains. They dressed the chapel in white with our white florals and lanterns. Her dress was soooo gorgeous. She caused both Seth and Ben to cry during first looks. They did a whiskey barrel ceremony mixing two jars of moonshine to reopen at a later date. I think you’re going to love these two as much as we did! Congratulations, Ben and Jess!!
From the Bride:
We met on Hinge! I had recently moved down South from Massachusetts and was testing out the dating waters and hoping to meet some new people. We both had a number of awful experiences with dating apps and were both about ready to take a break and, until we matched and started talking! Our first date was the longest first date I’ve ever been on (in the best way possible!). We met up at a Mexican restaurant and had some lunch and a few drinks and then we spent the next few hours walking around and talking. It got so cold but we weren’t ready to part ways yet, so we spent another few hours sitting in my car and continued to talk! We had been sitting there so long that my friend who had been watching my location (ya know, have to be safe meeting strangers from the internet these days!) saw that I hadn’t moved in a few hours and texted me to make sure I hadn’t been abducted, haha.
Ben proposed! We were taking a vacation in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg to celebrate Christmas and our 1 year anniversary together! We rented a little cabin on Lake Douglas and woke up early the first morning we were there to watch the sunrise over the lake. Ben said that it didn’t feel right if he proposed while we were in our pajamas watching the sunrise, though, so he waited until we got ready for the day and right before we were going to head out we were out on the balcony together and he got down on one knee, tears flowing, and asked! We both feel a sense of peace in the mountains and forest and with both of our families having to travel regardless, we decided on East Tennessee destination wedding! We are looking forward to spending the day with our friends and family! Especially spending time with the family members we aren’t able to see all too often and being able to celebrate our love with them!
For fun, we like to travel, try new restaurants & whiskey. More recently, we rescued a pup and he occupies a majority of our time!
