Emily and Dylan – October 7, 2022
October Morning Micro Wedding
Emily and Dylan joined us today for an October morning micro wedding. They dressed the chapel in navy and white fabric with our sunflower florals. She had a first look with her dad where they both broke down in tears. It was touching. They looked lovely together. Congratulations, Emily and Dylan!
From the Bride and Groom:
Em’s cousin downloaded & created a Tinder profile for her after several failed relationships. Dylan & Em matched about 2 weeks after it was created. Em “swiped” first but Dylan was the one that messaged first – it was a very well thought out long message, stating things from her bio, & even had proper grammar! Em swiped on Dylan because of his pretty eyes & beard. Dylan swiped on Em because the skinny jeans in her profile picture were very… shapely. But as soon as they started talking, the deeper connection was instant – from talking about serious things to being incredibly goofy. Dylan was Em’s very first & very last Tinder date.
We met at an indoor glow in the dark putt-putt place. Neither of us had been there before. The “DJ” was the 16 year old kid that was working the desk & it was a dinosaur themed course. But we still had a blast. Em was so nervous, but Dylan accidentally tripped over a dinosaur tail & it immediately broke the ice. Em lost by A LOT but Dylan told her she did great & it was a close game. It wasn’t even a little bit close. Then we went to a nearby restaurant to eat & have a drink. We hung out & talked for hours & Em’s family called her at least 5 different times on the date because her meeting a stranger made them nervous. Dylan asked Em out on a 2nd date the very next day. They shared the first “I love you” with each other 2 weeks later.
Dylan proposed at a local park while they were on a walk with their dog. His main goal was to take Em completely by surprise and that was very much accomplished. The park has a covered bridge & Em was off to the side reading a sign when Dylan came up behind her & just said “babe” Em turned around to look at him & saw him down on one knee & the first words out of her mouth were “holy f*cking sh*t” and then she saw the beautiful ring that he had made to look just like Em’s favorite ring of her moms and she immediately said YES. He made sure to call her dad & ask permission that morning & that their dog was there for the big moment. There was no photographer in the bushes, nobody was around, Em’s nails & makeup weren’t done & it was absolutely perfect for them.
Why did we decide on an East Tennessee wedding? The first trip we took as a couple was a cabin get away in Gatlinburg and they fell in love with the area. We wanted a small destination wedding with beautiful views.
I am looking forward to marrying my best friend & finally getting lots of couple photos done by a professional! (Dylan is not a fan of photos). There wasn’t a specific date, but we both wanted a fall wedding & Dylan happened to have that week off. It was either get married in 3 months or a year and a half. Neither wanted to wait!
For fun, we love to be outside together doing house projects to make our home how we want it. We love to travel & we always try to find the local putt putt place in every city we visit in honor of our first date. We love walks in the park with our dog & being outside as much as possible.
