October Micro Wedding – Kelly and Joseph

Kelly and Joseph – October 30, 2022

October Micro Wedding

Kelly and Joseph joined us for our final October micro wedding of the year! They dressed the chapel in champagne and sand fabric with our bohemian florals, lanterns, and simple pumpkin package. These two are both so interesting and fun! They are both in the army and met through instagram. I loved that he wasn’t afraid to show all of the emotion. It was beautiful. We loved these guys!!

Congratulations, Kelly and Joseph!
From the Bride:
We are both in the army and we were both stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. I went to Air Assault school with a few of Joseph’s friends and he started following me on Instagram. A couple months later he finally messaged me and asked me on a date! This was early 2019.
On our first date we went to Great American Steak house. This particular location had beautiful large windows with a great view of the mountains. We didn’t want to end the date after dinner so we walked around an outdoor mall and ended up at a dance hall. We danced and had a great time. When he brought me back home we sat on the tailgate of his truck talking in the parking lot of the barracks until 2 am, and I was head over heels.
Joseph proposed on the morning of New Year’s Eve 2021. We were visiting his family in Georgia went to have breakfast with a family friend of his, and afterwards he asked if I’d like to see a nearby park. I said yes so we went and it had a beautiful river. We walked across this bridge that was full of love locks. That’s where he proposed!
We are currently stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. My family lives in Dallas, TX. And his family lives in Augusta, GA. Chapel in the Hollow is located at a pretty central location for everyone and is of course beautiful. I began to see how pricey large weddings can be so I started looking for something smaller which is how I discovered the idea of a micro wedding. I quickly came across chapel in the hollow and I loved how it was conveniently located for us, beautiful, and surprisingly affordable.
I am most looking forward to getting to celebrate my marriage with the people that matter most. Joseph and I are already legally married because in the military it’s a big headache to get paperwork done. Not to mention all the benefits we receive for being married. But we didn’t get to share that moment with anyone. We don’t get to see family often and this will actually be the first time his family and mine meet, with the exception of my mother who has met his parents.
There isn’t really any significance to the date other than the fact that I love the fall, I love Halloween, and I love when the trees change! I am hoping for turning leaves in my pictures!
Joseph and I like being outside, taking weekend trips, trying new local restaurants, and making memories! But we are also home bodies. Most of our date night involve staying home watching movies and cooking after going for a short hike or walk and/or going to the gym together. It’s a balance!
