Carissa and Justin – November 27, 2021
November Wedding
Carissa and Justin joined us for our last November wedding of the year. They dressed the chapel with our white fabric and blue and yellow florals, and she brought some lovely sola wood flowers that coordinated beautifully. He looked super cute in his cowboy hat, and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. Congratulations, Carissa and Justin!!
From the Groom:
We had some friends that kept bugging us constantly to date each other so on a last minute whim we decided to go bowling with them. We usually consider that first bowling trip our first date, and it was horrible. By the end of the night when I (justin) was supposed to take her home I was pretty confident there would be no second date because the night didn’t go very well and was awkward. But I thought it might possibly go either way since we were having a pretty good conversation at that point so i drove past her road (just kind of thought we’re either going to like each other or hate each other by the end of the night). Then we spent the rest of the night driving down just about every road in the county talking. We had our second date the next evening.
I got a ring and asked her if I could marry her an evening in January. I asked the kids first I was honestly more nervous about the kids response than hers. I was just hoping that they were ready for the change.
We had our first little vacation to Gatlinburg and love the area and landscape. We wanted a micro wedding and thought going to our favorite place would be perfect. Really, we are just looking forward to becoming a family and living life together, being there for each other for everything. Our first trip down there (and our first vacation together) was Thanksgiving weekend so it made sense to make that our wedding date.
We like to go to dinner together, watch movies, we’ve had fun trying a lot of new things like axe throwing. Here lately it’s been home repairs getting ready to move in together.
