Non-Traditional Elopement – Ryli and Eli

Ryli and Eli – June 19, 2021

Non-Traditional Elopement

A non-traditional elopement is soooo much fun! Ryli and Eli decided to elope with us on this gorgeous June morning. She went non-traditional with her wedding dress, and I love it!! She chose the lavender and white fabric to coordinate with her dress and decided to not have chapel florals which showed off the iron details. Ryli created her bouquet, and her grandma made the cute lavender hair piece. Eli was styling in his navy pants and could barely tear his eyes away from Ryli. Their friends were a hoot. Congratulations, Ryli and Eli!! I hope all your firsts are extra fun!
From the Bride:
I wrecked my car March of 2020 and Eli was the first responder on scene that day! It took me 3 months of talking about the “ cute first responder” I was trying to find for my friend to say “ hey! My boyfriend is on the fire department with him I know who he is!” So I just added him as a friend on Facebook and he has been stuck with me ever since! I didn’t believe in love at first sight but that’s definitely what it was!
For the first date, I actually went to his house for a bonfire he was constantly working 24 or 48 hour shifts at the ambulance garage in our hometown so we could never find time for a “real date.” It was honestly so perfect! We ended up saving a kitten that night in the corn field by his house and again I new this was the man of my dreams!
Eli proposed in December. Christmas is my favorite time of year I remember watching a Christmas movie one night with him and telling him “ if someone ever proposes to me I want it to be at Christmas lights!” I had no idea he has taken my idea to heart and set up a date night to see Christmas lights and to dinner of course it was rainy/snowing and miserable outside so we didn’t get to walk in the Christmas lights I could tell something was up with how nervous he was. When we got back home he walked me to the back yard where he has a little arch and a bench set up with Christmas lights down the wall way. He got down on one knee and I can’t even retwhat he said after he pulled the ring out of his pants pocket I just screamed “ yes absolutely!” I don’t even think he really said “ will you marry me” I didn’t give him time to!
I was looking on Pinterest one day trying to find wedding plans, and I saw the chapel so I sent it to him. I said “ how about we elope and not worry about anything else but just us?” So that’s exactly what we are doing. He starts his medic school is August, and that’s when we planned our wedding back home. So it’s a win win for us!
I’m really ready to see the look on his face when he sees my wedding dress. He told me he didn’t care what my wedding dress looked like as long as it’s not purple.. and of course I fell in love with a dress that’s mauve colored!
We chose the date because it’s the day after his mother and fathers wedding anniversary! We love spending time with our families and having bonfires and just hanging out and enjoying everyone’s company
