Midday Micro Wedding in the Smokies – Tia and Troy

Midday Micro Wedding in the Smokies

Tia and Troy joined us today for a midday micro wedding. They dressed the chapel in champagne and navy fabric with our blue and yellow florals. She was a cutie in her layered dress, and he was extra snazzy in that grey suit. They let us test out our new bubble machines (we will be posting more about these tomorrow), and we were able to get some awesome pics of this lovely couple. Congratulations, Tia and Troy!
From the Bride:
I met Troy at my first nursing job in West Virginia. He had been a Respiratory Therapist at that hospital for about 5 years when I started. I was new, shy, and nervous for my first job. He was a very nice guy and liked by everyone. When I started night shift, he immediately reached out to me to make sure I had a friend to go to when I needed help with anything.
I wouldn’t really count it as the first date, but the first time we hung out is definitely the most memorable! We had been work friends for a few months and hung around many of the same people. Troy had been trying to hangout with me outside of work for a while, and I honestly had been blowing him off because I wasn’t sure how it would go and didn’t want to cross that line with work. Finally, after a few months into us being friends at work, I decided to invite him out to meet up with me and some of my friends at a bar. Luckily for him, by the time he got there, I was already a few drinks in haha. He walked in, and I immediately kissed him. The rest is history. He was a perfect gentleman and made sure I got home safely. We became inseparable ever since.
We got engaged this time last year in Rocky Mountain National Park. We took a week vacation, rented a car, and traveled around many parts of Colorado. It was the first time either of us had been out west. It was absolutely beautiful. On one of our last days we hiked 9 miles, nearly 12,000 feet high, to a location called Sky pound. It was the most exhilarating hike we had ever been on, we even managed to climb a waterfall to reach our final destination, where it started to snow! We were high enough to be surrounded by clouds. It was absolutely amazing, and we were rewarded with a secluded lake that we had all to ourselves. And that is where he proposed! It could not have been more perfect.
We love hiking and the outdoors. Visiting all the U.S. National Parks is on our bucket list. Since we got engaged in Rocky Mountain National Park, we thought it would be cool to get married in a different one (or close to it) . We live in driving distance to the Smoky Mountains and both wanted a wedding that was stress free with our closest friends and family. All of the Chapel’s reviews made this look like the perfect place for us! We are looking forward to a relaxing fun day with the ones we love most.
