Micro Wedding in the Woods
Jennifer and Brad – November 17, 2023
From the Bride:
We were introduced through a mutual friend who thought we might hit it off. We exchanged numbers and and talked on the phone almost every day prior to our first date a few weeks after we started talking. The first date was so fun. We met at Bartaco in Raleigh and had time to kill while we waited for a table so we headed to a pub around the corner from the restaurant. The conversation flowed so easily and before we know it it was time to go eat. We got a variety of tacos to try. I was super nervous so I was not eating much so he literally started feeding me tacos. That really made me feel at ease and we ended up closing down the restaurant we talked so long. He dropped me off at my car and gave me a kiss Goodnight. I knew immediately this was going to be more than a casual date. I went home and gushed to my parents about this great guy I had just been on a date with and we were inseparable after that.
Brad proposed to me on Christmas in the evening. When we woke up Christmas morning, he had joked about how we should see what Santa brought us because maybe he brought me a ring. Christmas morning came and went and we opened our presents to each other and there was no ring so I assumed it just wasn’t going to happen that day. Later on that evening we were just sitting on the couch together and he said he had one more present that he originally was going to give to me, but my best friend told him not to. When I got the book, I saw it was a coupon for date nights for married couples. I told him I was glad he didn’t originally give it to me. He ask me why and I said “well because we’re not married”. That’s when he pulled out the ring and said “we’re just not married YET.” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes!
Originally we were supposed to get married in May 2024, but a couple months ago we got the wonderful surprise that we are expecting a baby! We already had a family trip to Gatlinburg planned for November so I started thinking how cool of an idea would it be to get married while we were there. I’m looking forward to marrying the love of my life and sharing this special moment with my closest friends and family.
For fun, we love to hang out with our friends and family. Whether it’s poker nights, trying a new brewery, or having a cookout. A typical date night for us is pretty low-key. We usually order out some food. Find a good movie to watch and cuddle with our two kitties.
