Married in the Smoky Mountains – Jennifer and Mike

Jennifer and Mike – October 5, 2020

Rainy Mountain Wedding

Jennifer and Mike joined us on the evening of October 5th for an elopement years in the making to get married in the Smoky Mountains. They knew each other in high school and lost touch until close to 30 years later when he crashed her blind date. She knew immediately that he was the one for her. Congratulations, Mike and Jennifer on finding true love!!

From the Bride:

We have known each other through mutual friends for over 30 years. We never dated, but always had a smile and respect for each other every time we saw one another through out the years. We were also friends on Face Book. I was on a blind date, Mike saw me playing pool, and when he got the chance to talk to me, he did. We talked for about 30 minutes, while being mean mugged by my date. Mike asked if he could call me. I said absolutely. We went on two dates and have been inseparable since.

For the first date, we went to a quiet local bar to play pool on a Sunday after a huge snow storm in April. Mike seemed nervous. I fell in love with him. The day he proposed, Mike and I took a motorcycle ride down by Lake Michigan in August, one of my favorite places. He led me to the huge rocks by the water. We sat watching the waves. He had a back pack with wine in it, red solo cups and a beautiful ring.

Last year we rented a cabin in the Smokies and had a great time in Tennessee. We knew we wanted to elope and why not where we had our first out of state road trip?

For fun, we ride motorcycles. We each have our own Harley Davidson and love riding. We also ride our tandem, we each had one of our own, so now we have 2 in the garage. A typical date night is either on our motorcycles or pedaling on our tandem to go to dinner.
