Judi and Nigel – July 20, 2022
Late Summer Smoky Mountain Wedding
Judi and Nigel joined us for a late summer Smoky Mountain wedding. They dressed the chapel in gold and white with our sunflowers. She said the main reason she chose us was because the photography always made everyone look good — as if she needed any extra help! Judi looks stunning in that lacy white dress, and Nigel was super suave in his patterned shirt and suit jacket. These two crazy kids live in France and came all the way to Seymour for their big day. Congratulations, Nigel and Judi!!
From the Bride:
We met online, like most folks nowadays. My best friend told me to look for an English guy because “they do the dishes”! He does! The first date was a comedy of errors. I was wearing a pink coat. At the end of the date I wasn’t sure he was into me, so I asked him if he’d like to meet up again. He said, “I would do!” which doesn’t translate into American English. So, bold and only an American can be, I said, “Is that a YES or a NO?” He laughed and the rest is history. It was a YES.
I think he proposed. We’d been together a while and it felt natural. But we have been engaged for about 6 years. Every time we decided to plan the wedding, we went around the same issues as an international couple– which country, who’d be able to attend, what about our kids? My son is disabled and can’t travel, unfortunately. His kids live in the UK. It was complicated and we put it off for a long time. Finally, we just decided to get it done. My mother and one of my sisters lives here, and the site and chapel are so beautiful, the decision made itself once I saw the photos. I’m looking forward to watching Nigel cry like a baby! And to my mother to see me get married, as she missed my first wedding. We love to travel, but also just to be together and relax. We don’t have to do anything special. We like to sing together too.
