January Micro Wedding – Makayla and Hunter

January Micro Wedding

Makayla and Hunter – January 1, 2025

We kicked off the new year with a beautiful celebration as Makayla and Hunter said “I do” at Chapel in the Hollow for their intimate January micro wedding!  The chapel was dressed in simple yet stunning dusty blue fabric, letting the love and unique details of the day shine.
Makayla looked radiant in her sleeveless silk dress with a dramatic detachable train.  Her lacy tennis shoes added a fun, personal touch with “Mrs. Rigby” spelled out in rhinestones!  Hunter complemented her perfectly in a light tan suit that brought warmth to the chilly winter day.
The day was filled with special moments and thoughtful details. They set up a favor table with a framed heart sign for guests and custom drink coozies that read “The Rigbys 01/01/2025″ on one side and “Cheers to many years and cold beers!” on the other.
Right before walking down the aisle, Makayla surprised Hunter with an audio message that left him on the verge of tears.  Her son walked her down the aisle, while his son took his role as “ring security” very seriously.  His daughter, their flower girl, added an extra touch of meaning by tossing dried florals from bouquets he had given her over the years.
Their ceremony was filled with love and creativity. They wrote vows to each other and their children, making it a true family affair.  Ian gave a blessing before they shared a champagne toast, a special and unique moment that was new to us!
After the ceremony, they shared a private moment as a new little family before Makayla and Hunter shared a magical first dance. The sweetest part? Their daughter sang the song, and she had been taking singing lessons for months to prepare—such a heart-melting moment!
We captured family photos at the chapel and then took the happy couple to the field for breathtaking mountain view photos to end their day.
Congratulations, Makayla and Hunter! Your wedding was a beautiful way to start 2025, and we’re so honored to have been a part of your love story.
From the Bride
I am giving names first so to better explain the start of our story.
Hunter – groom
Shane – brides father
Tim- grooms father
Nolan- brides son
Tim and Shane grew up together and have always been really good friends, done a lot of stupid shit together lol. Tim and Shane own some land up in Louisville Alabama and we hunt up there and they have a little old ran down house. One weekend I went with Shane up to Louisville and Tim was up there. The weekend is going good just normal typical me posting pictures on Facebook of myself hunting. Hunter decides to like the picture ( didn’t realize that was Tim’s son at the time) (also didn’t realize we have been Facebook friends for the last 15 years). The weekend continues and we are in that old ran down house just a talking and Tim goes “yeah Makayla you probably know my son, Hunter Rigby” and then it clicked that it was his son that liked my picture. Tim continues to talk about him just that he likes to drink beer and I was sold when he said that. Not much was said and the day continues. Well I got the balls and messaged Hunter, I had no idea what to say so all was I said was “ I just realized you were Tim’s son like 10 minutes ago😂”
He replied immediately and we continued to talk the rest of the day. Evening comes and it’s time for our evening hunt and we are still just a texting away at this point. Immediate connection and just clicked. He had his kids that weekend and I was coming back that same day which was a Saturday night and he wanted to do a date Sunday evening after he dropped his 2 kids off. We continue to talk all the way home and all the next day.  He dropped his kids off and headed straight to pick me up. We went to eat at Mug Shots and then bowling at Oops Alley ( bowling place back at home in FL). I won the first game then didn’t get so lucky but Hunter says “ he had to be nice and let me win at least one”. There wasn’t a single awkward moment, he got me and I got him. After bowling we go back to my house and sit in the driveway for 3 hours and just talk. The date started at 4:30 and ended at 12:30. It was an immediate connection.
My mom always told me you will always know when they are the one and I knew as soon as we met. The next day I went over to his place and we had dinner and then after like date 3 I stayed And never left. We knew we were each others best friend, partner, and lover. And the rest was history.
Hunter proposed on July 5th at my mom’s house. I thought I was just going to eat with my cousin that was in town and then hangout but little did I know, the entire house was dark candles everywhere and flowers and around the corner Hunter on one knee with a sign behind him that said will you marry me, with music playing. It was perfect and everything I wanted.
We decided to have our January micro wedding in East Tennessee because we wanted something small and more intimate. On our wedding day I am  looking forward to being surrounded by our friends and family and getting to remember this day forever, and be married to my best friend.
Date nights are fun,
We do home date nights and it’s some card game or board game and wine or a CASE OR 2 of beer an old Disney movie or some action movie. Summer time we love boat days and beach days or spending our Saturdays with Hunter playing softball and I just support from the stand and have a few drinks 😂 We enjoy making new memories together and doing new adventures together. We also enjoy brunch on a Saturday and then shopping the markets.
