Devon and Tabitha’s intimate LGBTQ wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a beautifully curated celebration that combined dark elegance with personal touches. They chose hunter green and black fabric to dress the chapel, complemented by our lush succulent florals, creating a darkly sophisticated ambiance for their special day.

Devon looked stunning in a long black sleeveless dress featuring a corset back and a dramatic long train, radiating grace and style. Tabitha’s sister and Devon’s daughter lent their support, helping Devon prepare for the day. Tabitha was sharply dressed in black pants, a black dress shirt, and a striking black and green vest, perfectly matching the wedding’s theme.

Before the ceremony, they shared a private first look in the bridal suite, a moment filled with tenderness and anticipation. Their happiness and excitement to be marrying each other were evident, lighting up the room.

Their four children played a significant role during the ceremony, standing up with them in unity. The boys wore black, while the girls donned hunter green velvet dresses, adding a rich texture to the wedding’s palette. Adding a playful twist, Tabitha and her boys sported Batman-themed socks, showcasing their fun personalities.

After the heartfelt ceremony, the family gathered for a few cherished photos before Devon and Tabitha stole away for a couple’s photoshoot near the gate, capturing their love and the unique spirit of their wedding day against the backdrop of the chapel’s surroundings.

From the Bride

We actually met on a game called Game of Sultans on our phones in July 2019, we were in rival unions until we left and joined the same union where we became friends in September 2019. We kept talking and became friends until we realized that our friendship had grown into more in January 2020. Note Tab lived in Syracuse, New York and I lived in Bristol, Va. Our first date we went to Gatlinburg, TN and we ate funnel cakes, did a wine testing on the strip and spent a wonderful time playing in the arcade. Tab won a stuffed penguin that I still have. We had dinner at Bubba Gump, it was absolutely delicious. This was June 2020 and I knew that I was going to marry that woman. Unfortunately COVID shut everything down after this and it would be a year before we would see each other again.

I had planned “family pictures” on Roan Mountain at Sunset for May 28th, 2023. I am always signing us up for family photos so Tab didn’t think anything about it. I worked closely with our photographer to have the most amazing surprise engagement photos including our children. Everything went as planned leading up to the day, but the day of the photos the weather was not my friend. It had started raining early that morning and rained thought the day until we started our photos. Unfortunately we did not get to trek to the top of roan mountain due to the trail being muddy. I had to hurry up and rent a greenhouse that we ultimately had our pictures in but they turned out wonderfully and perfect for us. I was in the forefront with our children behind me holding a burlap sign that read “Will you Marry Me?” So when Tab turned around she was surprised by us. Our attire is much like our wedding attire, black and emerald green.

We decided to get married in East Tennessee because we fell in love with the secluded venue surrounded by nature. Plus I grew up here and love our mountains. On our wedding day i look forward to becoming one with Tabitha and making her my wife. We picked this date for not other other reason than its a math thing lol…10.12.2024…double 10 and double 12 makes 2024 its cool.

For fun we love to watch Football, Hockey especially the Knoxville Ice Bears. Movies and Concerts really anything together we enjoy doing together even if it is just laying around playing on phones.
