Smoky Mountain Getaway Elopement
Chelsey and Isaiah – February 27, 2026
A Sweet, Simple Escape to Say “I Do” at Chapel in the Hollow
Sometimes the most meaningful weddings are the quietest ones — just two people, a peaceful place, and the promise of forever. Chelsy and Isaiah’s Smoky Mountain getaway elopement was exactly that: a heartfelt, no-stress celebration where they could focus entirely on each other.
The couple chose Chapel in the Hollow for their intimate elopement in the woods. Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, this charming outdoor venue is known for creating relaxed micro weddings surrounded by forest beauty — the perfect place for couples dreaming of an easy, romantic escape.
For Chelsy and Isaiah, this getaway wasn’t just about getting married. It was about stepping away from everyday life for a few peaceful days, reconnecting, and celebrating the love they’ve shared since high school.
A Simple and Elegant Forest Wedding Setting
One of the beautiful things about a Smoky Mountain elopement is how naturally romantic the surroundings are. At Chapel in the Hollow, towering trees, soft woodland light, and the quiet sounds of nature create an atmosphere that feels both magical and calming.
Chelsy and Isaiah kept their ceremony décor clean, minimal, and effortlessly elegant. They dressed the chapel in hunter green and white fabric, skipping florals entirely for a simple, modern look that blended perfectly with the surrounding forest.
The deep green tones echoed the natural Smoky Mountain landscape, while the white fabric added a fresh, classic contrast. The result was a ceremony backdrop that felt intentional yet completely relaxed — exactly the kind of stress-free micro wedding they had envisioned.
Couples looking for a similar experience often choose Chapel in the Hollow because it offers the feeling of a national park ceremony without the complicated permits required for locations like Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
High School Sweethearts Say “I Do”
Chelsy and Isaiah’s love story goes all the way back to high school, making their elopement even more meaningful. After years of growing together and building a life as a family, they decided it was finally time to make things official.
Chelsy looked absolutely radiant walking down the cobblestone aisle toward the man she’s loved since those early days. She wore a long-sleeved illusion-top gown with a graceful medium-length train, a design that felt both romantic and timeless.
Isaiah kept things relaxed and authentic to his style in jeans and a crisp white dress shirt. The combination perfectly reflected the spirit of their day — genuine, comfortable, and focused on love rather than tradition.
As Chelsy walked down the aisle alone, Isaiah’s expression said everything. That quiet moment between them, surrounded by trees and soft mountain air, captured exactly what makes elopements so special.
Heartfelt Vows in the Smoky Mountain Forest
With the forest as their witness, Chelsy and Isaiah exchanged heartfelt vows during an intimate ceremony officiated by Ian Parrott. The peaceful setting allowed them to slow down and truly soak in the significance of the moment.
There were no distractions — just the two of them, the gentle rustle of leaves, and the promise of forever.
Elopements like theirs highlight why many couples are choosing Smoky Mountain micro weddings instead of large traditional celebrations. With fewer moving parts and a relaxed schedule, couples can focus on what matters most: their relationship and the experience of the day itself.
Exploring the Property for Romantic Wedding Photos
After the ceremony, the newlyweds spent time exploring the venue with their photographer from Star Noir Studio, capturing portraits across several of Chapel in the Hollow’s scenic locations.
Their wedding gallery included beautiful moments at:
-
The chapel ceremony space nestled among the trees
-
The rock formations that add a natural Smoky Mountain texture to photos
-
The quiet country road leading to the chapel
-
The open field with mountain views, one of the venue’s most popular photo spots
The cloud cover that afternoon created soft, even lighting — a photographer’s dream. While the weather was cool, it remained comfortable enough for the couple to enjoy every moment outdoors.
The result was a collection of images that perfectly captured the peaceful mood of their getaway elopement.
From the Bride
We met in 8th grade. I walked in the classroom as the new girl and he wanted me to sit by him. I of course did! Well our first date was fun and exciting and he made me laugh and smile so much! Took us out to eat and drove and opened my door and was just the sweetest person. So we actually have had a rocky road and finally we’re doing more amazing than ever and we just both decided we’re getting married and living happily ever after forever together so neither one of us actually proposed.
I told Isaiah I wanted to do my dream wedding in the mountains just us and just enjoying each other. And he didn’t hesitate to agree with me. We are looking forward to just a beautiful ceremony and spending the day with my love and getting amazing photos of the best day of our lives! We were sitting on the couch and talking about it and trying to figure out a date and all of a sudden that date came to mind. I don’t exactly know why but it stuck so that’s what we went with. We love going to find new food places and car shows and go see new places and play wrestle and doing things in the yard.
